Ok, so I will start of by saying that I loved the scenes that Foreman and Thirteen had together. Once again, this epiosde was full of sweet, genuine moments between these two characters. Plus, hearing the words "Foreteen's right" come out of House's mouth were not only hilarious, but a nice way acknowledge the ship's existence and was probably also a shout-out to us fans!

As always, I loved all their scenes together. One moment that I particularly loved was when Foreman said he would help search the house. Of course, that was Thirteen's assignment and I thought it was interesting that Foreman followed her like that. Of course, at that point we still did not know what had happened between them after their kiss, so I was so interested to find out exactly why he was following her.

Now, what eventuated from that point on kinda surprised me. Don't get me wrong: loved loved loved the episode and loved loved loved the Foreteen scenes. However, from writing perspective, I was surprised that the writers decided to take the Foreteen arc in the way that they did for this episode.

For example, I was surprised that Foreman and Thirteen hadn't followed up on their relationship since the kiss. Maybe its just my insane Foreteen shipping, but I kinda got the impression from that kiss that they were starting their relationship. Afterall, Thirteen made the big move to kiss Foreman, and yet, in 'Painless' she is backing away from him. Now, she explains herself and it does make sense that she would want to distance herself. Its just that I didn't see their relationship developing that way.

In addition, their relationship in 'Painless' played out very similarly to the Huddy post-kiss episode. That is, like Cuddy, Foreman was willing to explore the relationship, and Thirteen, like House, was avoiding the topic and pushing Foreman away. Of course, Foreman and Thirteen have moved foreward (after an incredibly sweet scene in the trial clinic!) in their relationship, whereas House and Cuddy are still god-knows-where with theirs. But I did wonder why the writers took Foreteen in that direction. Was it to show that the Foreteen relationship could withstand the pressure? Was it to show us that Foreman is actually very different from House? Was it to show symmetry in the show? Was it to make my heart skip a beat by suggesting that maybe Thirteen and Foreman wouldn't be together? Well, I don't know.

I think the next few episodes are gonna be "pull-on-misanthrope's-heartstrings" episodes, as this the whole clinical trial/placebo drug thing is already making me nervous. Not only because it means that my precious Thirteen is not receiving drugs that could help her, but because it puts Foreman in such a difficult position. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds, but my god, my eyeballs will probably drown in tears.

So anyway, that is my long and boring overall opinion on the episode. I have missed a whole bunch of things out, but I guess I just wanted to share my thoughts about the direction they took the Foreteen arc in this episode.

And remember everybody: "Foreteen's right."
