The anime isn’t finished. I doubt they’ll ever make a second season. The manga, on the other hand, is finished. Out of 136 chapters of manga, the anime only makes it to chapter 33. A lot of things happen in the other 103 chapters that the anime never gets to, including things that happen to Tohru, Yuki and Kyo. Their relationships change; people learn secrets and meet other people. I’m not saying you have to read the manga, I’m saying you have to read the manga to get the full story. Whether you want the full story or not is a different matter.
I’ve noticed a lot of people here are Twilight fans, so I’ll use that as a comparison. Imagine reading Twilight and New Moon, but not reading chapter 17 (Alice comes back and Bella becomes involved with the Cullens again) and the ending of New Moon. Imagine never reading Edward’s return, and instead Bella being alone with Jacob for the rest of her life. She would never know that Edward loves her. The situation in Fruits Basket is different, there are no vampires for one thing, but the idea of people not realizing and learning things is the same.
I don’t want to give out any spoilers (and I won’t), but there is a reason why I changed from being a Yuki & Tohru supporter to a Kyo & Tohru supporter after I read the manga. When I saw the anime and saw the number of Kyo & Tohru videos on Youtube, I was shocked. I thought for sure that Yuki should be with Tohru.

You could steal the same name I used. For the articles I wrote (similar to this) about Ouran High School Host Club. I put "What we miss in the Anime and get in the Manga." or something like that lol. But you could steal it or create something similar to that if you want to change your title. I don't mind :)
riceball1126, when I found out about a certain someone Yuki meets (I'm trying to avoiding all spoilers), I was really angry. Needless to say, I'm not angry anymore. It all makes sense.
