I don't even think they'll be a winner. Maybe these two formats can coexist side by side peacefully for the first time? (Stupid opinion, I know ;p) Plus the discs are expensive, not too many people are going to buy them. And I think HD DVD has no region encoding/restrictions so you can purchase a HD DVD from Germany and play it in North America fine but that's a different story for Bluray.
I like the name Blu-ray. Nah, I do know why it's better and everything, though I don't like the regions. Is it their fault that the UK isn't grouped with the US, or someone else's? 'Cause that's tremendously annoying, I hate not being able to buy things in America. And I don't think I'll stop buying hard copies of DVDs in the near future, I prefer seeing a colourful bookshelf full of discs than a folder of films on my laptop. Besides, I'd need at least another extra hard drive for all the films I want to buy.
