We don't inherit the planet from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.

Our planet is amazing.
Sure, I may sound like a total hippy saying it, but it's true. Just imagine for a moment the sheer scale of the solar system around us. Imagine all the lumps of rocks and dust we call planets. Imagine the star that has burned in the centre for billions of years.
Now just think: We are the only planet in our vast solar system to have developed like ours. We have animals and plants by the millions, we have the most wondeful technology, and millions of years left to enjoy.
I'm not trying to tell you HOW to save the planet (we all know what we can do. We've been told), and I'm not going to tell you WHY, because the reasons are clear, at least to me.
I just ask everyone to stop and think for a minute how truly wonderful this little blue and green planet of ours is. We've accomplished so much, a unique world of life in a beautiful, yet lifeless galaxy.
This article may be completely pointless (And yes, maybe I'm a hippy). I'm not telling you anything new at all. However, I think that if more people simply realised how beautiful and extrordinary our world is, then we'd all appreciate ever more strongly what we'd be giving up if we didn't try to save it.
