If you have seen Grandma's Boy, you know what it would be like to have a 'roommate' that likes to cook and clean. Sure, doing some chores that are too physically demanding for an elder roommate can be annoying at 6 in the morning, but its worth it.
A true life friend of mine had to move out of his house and move in with his grandmother. Ironically, she makes all of his meals and does his laundry, and he gets high in his room. There are a lot of truths to this movie that people tend to overlook.
The first truth is that 'elder roommates' can be useful. Elder roommates love to cook. As a man in my mid 20's I dont like to cook at all, unless its something complex and I am on a mind altering substance. My friend is the same way, and his grandma makes his every meal. Its pretty nice to have someone make you a 3 course meal to take to work. Its like she gets up in the morning to make him breakfast and then once that is done, she makes him a dank lunch while he is eating and getting ready for work. Its pretty sweet.
The second truth is that elder roommates love to clean. My buddy used to come to work in the same dirty pants about 4 days out of the 5 that we come to work. Granted, we work construction and that is pretty normal. But its pretty weird that when he moved in with his new roommate, he always had clean clothes and didnt smell like shit.
There are some obvious disadvantages though. We used to chill over at his house and smoke and drink and just get wasted, but the elder roommate has a large influence over things. You cant pyramid beer cans on the table when there are ornate objects that are obviously breakable... oh well.
Overall, having an elder roommate is pretty sweet, but once all of your goals have been achieved, and all of your clothes have been washed, its time to move out.
Maybe having an elder roommate could be pretty cool all the time.. if it was Kieth Richards..

I would just feel bad smoking in my grandma's house, I mean people in the 30-40's had heard of pot right?
