Um, Twilight doesn't have more fans than Harry Potter. The Twilight fans are just louder and more obnoxious.

The Twilight fanbase is not higher. It's only because Twilight has been round for a shorter time than harry potter, so alot of people are declaring how wonderful they think Twilight is and everything. The fan base with HP is still huge, but because alot of the HP fans don't make as much of a scene about it, people think that there are more Twilight fans in the world. I hope that made sense. :)

Firstly, they don't. Harry Potter still has a far, far greater number of fans, and is much better known.
The only reason it seems so is that the peak of Harry Potter's popularity has past. But the fans still exist.
Twilight is at its peak. It is what is popular among teenagers today, which is why it is seen more, why the fans are more prominent in society, etc. That doesn't mean there are more fans.
But still, Harry Potter is in general much bigger than Twilight - more copies sold, more tickets sold, more awareness, more fans. And the books are much better anyway.(in my opinion, don't attack me).

Second, even if there were more fans, that doesn't mean Twilight is better. Now which is the better book may be opinion, but I think it can be seen as quite agreeable that Harry Potter is better written - a richer plot, better thought out, makes sense, creates an entire new world. For this reason, many like Harry Potter more.
The people who prefer Twilight do so largely based upon their thinking that the characters are 'cooler' that Edward is more attractive, that the romance is emphasised more. This is all opinion. It would neither be considered very valid in arguing that this is why Twilight is better. See what I mean?

Harry Potter actually has more fans than Twilight does, it's just that Twilight fans tend to blog or go online more than HP fans, which makes the Twilight fan base seem much bigger than it actually is. But, when you turn to book sales or movie ticket sale, HP always rolls in more money than Twilight. For example, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was the HP movie with the lowest income, it ranked as the 53rd movie with the highest gross in the U.S.A. of all time, but all the other HP movies did better. Twilight on the other hand, ranked as the 104th on the same list.

Because right now, girls think that the only thing that matters in a book or a movie is hotness of the characters. But that doesn't mean Shitlight has a bigger fanbase because HP sold much more copies...

Nah, I know what you mean. But actually stastics show that there are more Harry Potter than Twilight fans.

What Mrs_Grint says is right and i think thats because Twilight is good for girls and boys and both genders can enjoy it. But i reckon Twilight is so popular because you do not have to think when you read it. There is no underlying message in the characters or the plot. It is simple and straightforward, it is not thought provoking and it doesn't make you question your being or your beliefs as some authors can do.

When you say "Harry potter is the best film ever" that isn't a fact. That is purely a matter of opinion!

they are both good books and movies. SOMEONE said that twilight fans are more obnoxious, but i dont think so. i like both. oh, and just so you know, people are just more excited about twilight because no one had really read the books before the movie came out. and once they did, they thought it was good.

cuz twilight is newer-just wait, in a couple of years people'll be lik "whats twilight? nvr heard of it!" and also lik "i love the harry potter books, jk rawlings is a fantastic author" so take THAT u temporary twilight fans!!!! :P

Umm, u need to look at the box office sales/ book sales of harry potter vs twilight. Jk rowling has more money than the Queen of England. If u realy looked at the statistics, hp has more fans than twilight.

Is this some kind of joke? How closed minded can people be- Harry has soooo many more fans than twilight. Has any of the opening book nights, looked anything like when the Deathly Hallows came out. Also check CAT(Critical Analysis of Twilight) and learn from just one spot how many people love Harry and how many hate the sparkly vampires. Also twilight fans are loud and are always hyperventallaiting, so they need a blogging spot, but we are sooo much more sophisticated, do you see us freking out, shaking like maniacs in our seat when a HP movie comes out...errr...NO! hahaha no one take this too personal, its just HP has more fans, what can I say???

Agree with Renrae but also, fanpop isn't represantative of the whole world... As you can see, HP kicks ass in every pick here but that doesn't mean HP deserves to win ALL the picks, it's just that HP is more highly represented here than Twilight. It's the same thing for the Twilighters who are on Fanpop.

P.S. Harry Potter IS a better novel than Twilight, but that's just my opinion...

they just think that edward cullen is hot. but harry potter fan's dont really think about the 'hotness' in harry potter do they? they like harry potter because of EVERYTHING.

Because of the boum that the movie made and because the obsession fans have for rob patt'z.
and also because of the idea of a human being in love with a vamp,while in Hp the whole terminus it has a wider sense,not only killing voldermort,but saving the world,saving people,and making the world a better and peaceful place
