Can a metamorphmagus change his/herself into an animal, just as an animagus can?

I've been wondering this for a while and I think it would be cool if they could.

Well, they can only get the features of an animal, not entirely. They'd look like weird humanoids or something...

i agree that you sre correct. A metamorphis can only change their characteristics. For exapmple in the Order of the Pheonix, Tonks can change her hair and noses , but not her entire self.

They might be able to make all their features look like an animal, but I imagine that there would stille be some human features to them. This is just guess work, I honestly don't know if I'm right.
