my thought is that she had never seen harry as a baby. And that would be because that James and Lily, went into hiding right after Harry was born.

maybe...DUH...she was a little flustered with five children hovering over her, one getting on the train for the first time. She didn't have enough time to notice! I mean,read the passage again. You could soooo tell she had her hands tied up.
Yeah I agree with mobe0593. That's a good thought though. But you have to imagine that it's been years since she had seen the Potters too. Memories fade. :)
My siblings and me (3 of us) are in public, it's usually the friend who approaches US. My mom doesn't really notice b/c we make her busy. Imagine haveing King's Cross, more people, first time, loads of kids, things to make sure they have, and other things. Now, THAT is a hassle.
