Kelly Marie Stewart

She made her debut appearance on HOLLYOAKS last week and we'll soon learn just how strong-willed and feisty Hayley Ramsey really is.

Liverpool born Kelly Marie Stewart, has taken on the new role as Zak Ramsey's younger sister Hayley. Kelly and Hayley suffer from Guillain-Barre Syndrome, which makes them wheelchair bound.

Hayley is determined not to let her disability affect how she lives her life and decides to enrol on a course at HCC. Over the course of her first few weeks in HOLLYOAKS, we'll see Hayley clash with Michaela and try to get to the root of her relationship problems with Zak.

We met up with the lovely Kelly Marie Stewart for a little chat and she's now playing a HOLLYOAKS babe, we had to ask about Hayley's style, Kelly said: "I've been quite lucky really because Hayley is supposed to be a typical Liverpool girl. Some of the costumes are probably not things I would wear myself to be honest, but there's nothing really bad in her wardrobe. She seems quite trendy...everything matches and stuff – overall she's got a nice look!"

This week we are celebrating the arrival of new characters to HOLLYOAKS with interviews from Darren Langford (Spencer), Kelly Marie Stewart (Hayley), Melissa Walton (Loretta), and Danny Tennant (Natty). Our interviews will start tomorrow and feature each day this week. But before that, take a little look at our introductions, to acquaint yourself with our new cast members...

Darren Langford
Darren Langford (Spencer) arrived on our screens just before the end of 2008, when he made his debut appearance as Warren's foster brother Spencer.

Spencer, who suffers from learning difficulties, had left home in search of Warren after his mum died, and since Louise's disappearance has set himself up at Warren's flat, determined to look after his love-sick brother.

But as Warren tries to get on with everyday life and the running of his business empire, it has become apparent that Warren is struggling to deal with the extra attention and care that Spencer needs. It’s lucky then, that Spencer has found a friend in Sasha who is more than happy to help Warren look after Spencer.

as they leave
It should be a double celebration at the Barnes' for Sarah's birthday and Kathy's return. But Sarah is uneasy with her mother and Mike is shocked as Ste produces a present for Sarah. A pumped-up Mike finally has an excuse to throw Ste out when he finds money missing from the shop. Everyone is stunned as Amy launches to Ste's defence, admitting she stole the money because the family abandoned her. Clearly not believing her, Mike throws Ste out of the house. The Barnes are left in turmoil when Amy abandons the comforts of the family home and follows Ste into the unknown.

Rhys and Beth are horrified and confused as the fact sinks in that they are siblings. Beth is dismayed as Rhys cruelly wonders if she knew he was her brother before she moved to Hollyoaks. A bewildered Neville senses Rhys and Beth's discomfort but is oblivious to the underlying cause. Beth reluctantly accepts when Neville invites her home in the hope that she'll help Rhys come to terms with finding out that Noel's his father. But the revulsion at the enormity of what they have done turns the new-found siblings against each other.
