Does anybody know of a good GIMP wallpaper tutorial?

I just downloaded GIMP, and I am seriously lost. Does anybody have a good tutorial for a simple fan wallpaper? I mean seriously simple because I have NO idea what I'm doing LOL. Or, now that I'm thinking of it, ANY basic tutorial would be helpful! Thanks a bunch in advance.

It really depends on how you want to make your wallpaper. A very helpful tool is blending images. Here's a couple of useful tutorials I know:
