Hey everyone! Thank you so much for the reviews! I'm sorry for the long wait, and I know it's not fair... but this is going to be really sad... It'll be better soon, but sometimes things get worse before they get better...Chapter 11 Jennifers words kept flowing though her head, is it worth it?, of course it was worth it, she loved Hugh and he loved her and that was all that really mattered right? ‘Of course.. of course it’s worth it..’, Lisa stumbled, ‘he loves me…’ ‘Really honey? I don’t want to be mean and I know you want him to love you, but does he?’, Jennifer asked. At this Lisa got mad, ‘Of course he loves me! Why would he say he does when he doesn’t?!’ ‘I think you know why… he’s a man after all…’, Jennifer said shyly. She really didn’t want to hurt her friend, but she thought it would better be her than Hugh. ‘This is not just about sex! This is not just any man! It’s Hugh for god sakes!’, Lisa was yelling now. ‘We know that sweety, we just don’t want you to get hurt…’, Katie said. ‘I can’t believe this!’, Lisa said, stood up and sighed. Katie walked over to Lisa and grabbed her hands, ‘Lisa…, we’re not saying Hugh is doing this for the sex, we just don’t want you to go blind on him...’ Lisa sighed and sat down again. ‘We all know how gentle and kind Hugh is, but we also know he has his troubles… You should know that more than anyone of us. He’s always a little bit miserable and once and a while he seeks comfort… You’re not the first woman he has an affair with Lisa and you won’t be the first one he hurts because he can’t or won’t leave his family when it comes down to that.’, Katie said. ‘But…’, Lisa argued. ‘Like I said, we don’t want to hurt you, we want you to be happy. But with Hugh, I just don’t know... What about your family-dream? Does he know about that?’, Jennifer asked. ‘I-I… I told him last year when I was a little baby-obsessed, so I think he…’, Lisa replied. ‘Does he know that you still want that? He already has a family, his kids are almost all grown-up. He’s already fifty… I don’t want to be rude, but if you stay with him… You might miss out on your last chance…’, Jennifer said, he face covered in shame. Lisa nodded, ‘I know, it’s just… ’ I love him. ‘Either way this isn’t going to end well… We all know the chances he leaves his wife are very slim, but even if he does… he’d be miserable because his kids are mad at him, or because he feels guilty or anything... You should end it before it’s too late, Lisa.’, Katie said. Lisa didn’t reply and the other girls didn’t know what to say anymore either. This was supposed to be a fun day out… Eventually Olivia couldn’t stand the silence and needed to talk, ‘You know I would’ve never thought Hugh would be so text-book. I mean the minute he turns 50, he buys a Porsche, get’s a smooth haircut and seduces a hot woman to take care of his masculine needs… The only thing missing is a tattoo of a woman with huge boobs on his arm…’ Lisa looked up at Olivia who quickly stopped talking when Lisa’s eyes were shooting fire at her. Lisa stood up and walked to the bathroom again, she didn’t know what to do anymore. The girls all made good points, but she didn’t want to hear it. Right now she needed to believe that this wasn’t just about sex and comfort, that this wasn’t one of his in the end meaningless affairs. She needed him to tell her that she was all he wanted, all he needed. She wanted to be back at the Lake again. She wanted Hugh to hold her in his big strong arms, to feel protected and loved. Lisa buried her head in her hands, everything was so screwed up, ‘he does loves me…’, she whispered. I'm almost scared to ask, but please review? |
