He's back...
|
Not long ago it seemed like any prospect of a 4th Indiana Jones movie had been boxed up and filed away in a warehouse somewhere, left to rot along with the long forgotten Ark of the Covenant. But, thankfully that is not so, and come next summer we'll be back in Indy's world again, and I, for one, am very excited.
At this point only news of shortround making a return appearance could top my already dangerous excitement levels, but then I found out that Spielberg and Lucas had filed for the copyright on 6 titles... whether these are all potential movie titles is not clear, as there are gonna be games too, but I reckon THE title is amongst them... and thus we should know from that what Indy will be chasing this time round.
Anyhoo, here's the titles we have to play with...
Indiana Jones and the City of Gods
Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds
Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Got some updates for Indiana Jones and the Search for a Decent Title, so here we go...........
O9ne of the proposed titles I identified through my soapbox was Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods (referring to Atlantis, which is long fabled to be the location of Mount Olympus... amongst other things). However, this title was half officially announced as THE title only a few months ago.... which has lead to a raft of fan made trailers using that title (see the vids section of the Indy Spot).
But in todays increasingly media savvy world those cheeky creators often lead us down the wrong path, take for example Russell T. Davies who often lets slip little bits of Doctor Who news, which the press jumps on, before it turns out not to be false info... like that Kylie would be starring in the christmas episode (which she is), but as a 'sexy cyberwoman' (which she is not). I believe that Mr Lucas and Mr Spielberg have been playing with us... and on that basis I would suggest that 'City of Gods' will not be the title for the movie.

So, as fans of the massively successful Indiana Jones franchise we finally got our wish.... Indy emerged, seemingly uscathed, from a journey as fraught with danger as the Mine Cart ride in Temple of Doom... a journey through development hell. But as his journey ended ours began... Indiana Jones' Fans and the Search for the Truth.
With the announcement that there would be a 4th installment of this ever popular franchise, we were (finally) able to breathe a sigh of relief. But not for long, as the rumours began to fly about Indy's latest adventure... what will he be after? will there be Nazis? Will that rolling rock finally be victorious and flatten Indy? But amidst these rumours are shiny nuggets of truth... and, with a little bit of panning, I've sifted some of the truth from a minefield of rumours that have plagued our understanding of Indy's latest outing. So without further ado, lets de-mist the windscreen of rumour...
FACTS (MORE OR LESS...)
In terms of casting it has been confirmed that Ray Winstone will be playing Indy’s sidekick, named ‘Mac’ (which is interesting as an early draft of Indy IV had a character named Mac as a...
