I think they would have stayed in the states. Harm's mom lives in La Jolla and it would be much easier for them to travel to visit friends if they didn't have to go through customs every time they took a trip. But who know's which side the coin landed on.
I think they did thing this way so we can all have the ending that we wish for each of our favorite actors. My ending is the the one I have wanted since the begining, They get married, have babies, live, love and work like they have been. I would have loved a few thousand seasons more....
The only thing I have ever wanted from the very beginning was for Hae=rm and Mac to be Mr. and Mrs. Rabb. I always wanted them to hook up and be together.

Definately San Diego. The sun and sand and surf of California, closer to Harm's mum and it would mean that Mattie wouldnt have to be dragged to the other side of the world in her condition.
