This sounds strange, especially since I'm English yet all of my favourite shows are American. But that's the problem. American shows are (in my opinion) better, but British shows are given more chances to succeed.
Maybe it's because we have less channels over here, or because as a much smaller country the expectations of station owners are not as high ratings-wise but English shows always seem to be give more seasons and chances despite many not actually being as good as their cancelled American counterparts. I'm not saying there is no good British TV, but shows like 'HEX' should not get more seasons than Firefly. If that had been sold to an English channel (still with the same actors etc obviously) it would have been given years.
It's not even that our shows get longer coz they use less special effects and therefore less money coz we have dr who which needs special effects. And Demons which is similar to buffy in the way that if you took Buffy, removed all the charm witt intelligence and femenism you'd get an ugly mess that looked a bit like Demons! (just watched a chunk of it online before it airs. I think you can tell what I think of it.)
A problem with bringing shows over to England is I don't like the look of most of them compared to American shows. If you compare the overall look we film most of our shows with the same slick profesionalism American TV uses on backstage footage! It's like they think a show can only be gritty if it literally looks grittier. I'd still like Joss to do everything the 'American' way, using American actors etc.
So I think next idea Joss has he should sell the idea to a British channel but still film it in America with American actors in the same style he usually uses! Just that the rights would belong to a British channel, who would be far more likely to give it a fair chance.
That's my idea as a solution to the much debated 'how do we stop stupid stations(I'm looking at you Fox network!) from ruining his shows?' question

Also in my opinion the best shows dont always come from the US for example Gavin and Stacey The Mighty Boosh Dr Who The I.T Crowd The Royale Family Wallice and Gromit Spaced (Shaun of The Dead Hot Fuzz) to name but a few
I did love the show 'green wing' which is English, but that's a comedy and when it comes to the genre Joss writes in I think America does it better
And lots of good shows don't need a huge budget. Dr who is great and that is financed by a british channel and manages to do special effects/action.
I don't think it wouldn't be possible because firstly those studios rent out their studio space all the time.Or Joss could bring his American cast/crew and film in England. And I know American TV reaches a larger audience so it gets more popular, but I'm not saying don't air it in America, just don't have an American channel own it. Like Buffy was owned by an American network but it still aired on the BBC. They should do that the other way around
