On "The View" May 14, Joy Behar outright lied and stated that Continental Airlines was responsible for the tragedy of Colgan Air flight 3407. She blatantly stated that because Continental Airlines owns and trains Colgan Air pilots Continental should therefore be held responsible for this tragedy. The truth is, they neither own nor train Colgan Airl pilots. I emailed ABC expressing my concern, and asked that Joy either apologize or retract the statement. Apparently they didn't want to hear "MY view" because my request was ignored.
I later attempted to post a comment on "The View message board". My post was withheld and I was sent an email accusing me of abuse because I referred to Joy as "ignorant" , which in fact she IS regarding this topic, and a "has-been comedienne", which is merely my opinion, therefore MY "view". Abuse? I don't think so... Abuse is when you blame an uninvolved company for a tragic accident that killed 50 people. I suspect lieing is considered abuse by most people's standards, accept maybe Joy Behar's...
I seriously would like to know how (and why) ABC justifies Joy's outright lie on national tv about something so tragic, by wrongly accusing a company of being responsible for this tragic accident without any consequences, repercussions or retractments? Exactly when did it become acceptable for a celebrity to make public erroneous, inflammatory statements about a company (or anyone) and then justify it under "The View" umbrella as if it were an exemption? Is this truly what the "The View" represents?
