Hey everybody!! I know I didn't think I was going to write tonight but...well I couldn't resist. I'm just going to post this one today, and I will post another NM, Emmett and possibly a journal tomorrow. Please comment!! Thanks everyone!
*****Sorry it's short...falling asleep while typing. Hope it's ok :)***** End of Chapter 30 I looked at the clock and began to panic. The time was now 11:55, we had 5 minutes before Edward would step out into the sun. Once inside the gate it became so crowded that the car could barely crawl. When I saw an opening I would speed up and then have to slam on the breaks because people would walk in front of the car. I noticed that people were getting angry with us, they were yelling things and shaking their fists at the car. I saw a walking path that looked to be just wide enough for the car to fit down, and sped off towards it. I noticed that more then a few people were cussing at us as they dove out of the way. I ignored everything they were yelling and pointing out to us, looking for another street I could go down. I found another street at the end of the path, turning fast on to it. I noticed that we were within a few hundred feet of the clock tower, this was as close as we were going to be able to get. "There!! We're at the southern end of the square. Run straight across, to the right of the clock tower. I'll find a way around!" I said as I pointed to the tower. Suddenly I felt the tingling sensation we get when other vampires are around. I stopped the growl that was about to escape as I looked around, noticing the groups of vampires that were cloaked or hidden in the shadows. I couldn't believe how many of them had come out in public. "They're everywhere." I said outloud as I gasped, sucking a breath in. Bella froze in her seat when I gasped. I looked at her, fear and amazement still obvious on my face. "Forget about them, You have two minutes. Go, Bella!! GO!" I yelled. We both jumped out of the car, Bella running as fast as she could in the direction I pointed out to her. I stopped to watch her for a second before I ran into the shadows...trying my best to avoid any of the Volturi. Chapter 31 I looked around and noticed that no one was paying attention to me, they all had turned because Bella was running across the square screaming Edwards name as loud as she possibly could. I took advantage of her distraction, wishing more then anything that I could turn at watch. I found a small alcove that was completely enclosed, I looked knowing that other Volturi were now looking for me. No one had seen me take cover, so I was safe for a few minutes. I set the bags that I grabbed out of the backseat and stowed them in the corner, behind a pile of bricks that had been left here. I knew that I was safe here for a few minutes, so I closed my eyes and looked for Edwards future. I saw him take his step into the sun, face up to the sky, a smile on his face. His shirt was shredded at his feet, a last second decision he made so his reveal would be more dramatic. I saw Bella running as fast as she could, tripping in a fountain. Her voice calling out his name, he was sure that it was the sound of angels, or a final illusion of her voice. Bella was running, and slammed into him. Her momentum was enough that if he hadn't wrapped his arms around her, she would have bounced off of him and fallen to the ground. He muttered something about being dead, then I saw two of the guard surrounding them. I knew that Edward would defend himself and Bella at all cost.....I couldn't believe that we came all the way over here to save him...just to have him fighting. I opened my eyes, a new fear creaping into my chest. I knew that there would be two guards, and since they were cloaked I couldn't be sure who they were or if they had any 'special talents.' I looked again hoping that I could see my own future, I needed to know if it was safe for me to go and help them..if that was possible. I knew that going to help them could be considered breaking a promise that I had made to Jasper. I had promised not to do anything that could get me in trouble...and now I was going to be running directly into something I couldn't guarentee getting out of. I sighed as I climbed out of my hiding place, looking to the east as I began running. I knew I had to keep to the shadows, and avoided any area's that were congested...it wouldn't help anyone if I exposed myself now. I came around the side of a housing complex, looking to the east as I heard voices, their anger was obvious even from this distance. I head them discussing Aro and something about disappointment. I head two sets of feet moving closer to the square, I knew from my vision that Edward would be in a defensive stance in front of Bella...so it wasn't their feet I heard. It took me a second to realize that they were trying to force Edward and Bella back down the alley towards me...towards the dark. "Edward, I'm at the end of the alley." I thought as I watched his head turn to where I was standing. I took a slow step and watched as the other two cloaked figures turn to glare at me...I guess I couldn't hide anymore. "Let's behave ourselves, shall we?" I asked in my sweetest voice. "There are ladies present." I said as I walked down the alley. |
