Hey all, I just wanted to say that I am fine. My finger is dumb, that's the best way to explain. I'm sorry I made you all go a few days without this story, but well....I was "working." LMAO!!
Ok sorry, hope everyone enjoys!! luv j_b End of Chapter 40 I was about to ask him why he kept them in his pocket when he looked up at me, his eyes changing from a brown color to blood red. I gasped, realizing what this meant instantly. I went to stand up when a hand shot across the table, pulling me back. "Bella, don't run. They are almost here." He said as he watched me. "Who? What's going on?" Jen asked. "Don't worry about it, this has nothing to do with you." Kyle said softly. "Do not hurt them." I said as I glared at him. "I will cooperate if you just let these two go." "I can not do that that." He said as he put an arm around Sara's shoulder, pulling her closer to him. "NO." I said as I stood up, looking down at him. "They will not be hurt. I will cause a scene Kyle, believe that." "Bella, sit down please. People are staring." "I don't care, you are going to let us all go now. We will take your car, you can wait for the rest of your...'friends'." I said as I stood up, pulling Jen out with me as I reached out and offered Sara my hand. "Come with us Sara, you don't want to stay with him...believe me." Sara looked from him to me and back before slowly standing up. I looked at Kyle to make sure that he was going to stay where he was, I didn't want to have to cause a scene in here but we had to be going if we had any chance. Chapter 43 "Give me the keys Kyle." I said as I held my hand out. "No." He said as he crossed his arms and smiled. "I will not go back, and I will NOT let all of these people be hurt because of me. Now....give me the keys." I said between my teeth. "Here Bella." Sara said as she reached in her pocket, pulling out Kyle's keys. "How." I asked as I looked at her. "Do we have time to worry about this?" She said as she moved closer to me. "Good point." I said as I turned and glared at Kyle. "You stay here and wait for your friends. If you move I will start screaming and I don't care how strong you are...you can't hurt all of us." I said, hoping he believed the anger that was building in my voice. We all moved towards the door, Sara and Jen going first as I walked backwards to make sure that Kyle didn't move. Once we were out the front door we all took off running, jumping in the car and locking the doors before anyone said anything. "What the hell was that?" Jen asked as I started the car. "You wouldn't believe me." I said as I threw the car in reverse, heading back to the highway. "Are we in trouble?" Sara asked. "Yes." I said as I turned back on the highway. I figured that they would know by know that I had spoke with Edward, that I was planning on going to Denver so that I could be flown home. So, with that thought I turned onto the highway that lead back to Grand Junction. "Bella, why are we going this way?" Jen asked as she looked at me. "I have a idea." I said as I smiled. We sped down the highway, going as fast as I possibly could without breaking the law. I knew that if we were pulled over by the cops, that we would only have a lot more problems on our plate. "I'm sorry, but I can't explain everything. What I can tell you is that I was kidnapped from my house in Washington...I was blindfolded and taken somewhere. I don't know where I was but I was held against my will, I wasn't suppose to contact anyone...but a guard snuck me a phone." I explained, Jess's jaw dropping in shock. "What happened?" "I called my boyfriend, and found out that he and his family were out looking for me. I knew that they wouldn't stop until they found me, that's the way they are." I said as I smiled, thinking of all the Cullens. "I hope they are still looking." "I'm sure they are, Bella why were you on the side of the road?" Sara asked. "I jumped out of the car, they were taking me somewhere else...apparently Edward's family got too close and they had to move me. They stopped to...." I said as I thought of how to explain the vampires stopping to feed. "They stopped to eat, and decided to keep me on my way. It was just me and the driver, and he wasn't paying attention...so I jumped." "Just like that?" Jen asked. "It was my only chance." I said as I turned to look at her. "Oh my, Bella. I'm so sorry, we were just running from our lives...trying to start again. We didn't know that...we were being foolish." She said softly. "I want to go home." Sara said softly. "Me too, but ok...how about this. We stick together, for now I think that it would be safer for all of us if we stick together." I said as we passed as sign saying that Grand Junction was only an hour away. "Bella, do you really think it's a good idea to go to them?" Jen asked, her voice rising a little. "We aren't going there." I said as I saw a turn off. The sign said New Castle, it was only a ways from Grand Junction...and I hoped was small enough that no one would notice us. I pulled off the side of the road as I turned and looked at both of them. "Does anyone have a phone?" "Here." Jen said as she handed me her phone. "Thanks. Ok, here's my plan. We are going to go find a back road, and drive into the mountains. We have to stay in the car, I'm going to call Edward and tell him where we are...he'll take care of everything." I said as I dialed his number. It rang once and went to voice mail, I groaned as the phone beeped. "Edward, I got away. We are outside the town of New Castle. I can't say more, because I'm scared they will find us. Please call me back, here is the number.." I said as Jen started saying her number. I repeated it back to him and begged that he hurry and call me back..and that I loved him. I pulled back onto the road, all of us tense as we started heading for the mountains. We all made small talk and were happy that there was no one around, about our lives and our love. We were all laughing and talking when a car pulled onto the road behind us, it's lights illuminating the entire car as it closed the distance between us. |
