Jasper: Chapter 30

I can't believe it's been a week since I wrote this story!! I'm sorry it took so long but I've been busy lately, I'm going to try to write more often. Here we go :)j_b End of Chapter 29 Carlisle relaxed, leaning his head back against the couch. He took a few deep breaths before he realized that this was not notmal, the calming leaving him instantly as he sat up and glared at me. "Was that you?" He asked as he sat forward, resting his hands on his knees. "Yes." "How do you....how would you describe this?" He asked, honestly curious. "I can sense emotions of people around me, I can use different emotions to influence people." I explained as I looked at the wooden floors. "Interesting." Carlisle said as he rubbed his hands together. "But, this doesn't explain how you knew about us." "That would be because of me." Alice said softly as she moved closer to my side, my arm wrapping around her protectively. She was so scared, she looked up at me and I smiled, hoping she understood what I meant behind this. I knew that she could do this, she was SO sure of these people....that they would accept both of us, but now she was scared and there wasn't anything I could do to help her. Chapter 30 "What do you mean, because of you?" Carlisle asked as he moved forward in his chair looking at the small woman who was tucked into my side. "Well..." Alice said as she moved out a little bit so she could see both Carlisle and Esme. "Rosalie is going to come storming down the stairs, and I'm sorry Esme. It was a very beautiful vase." She said sadly. "What, do you mean?" Esme asked as she looked at Alice. I smiled, having spent time with Alice I knew that what she saw would happen in only a few minutes...and sure enough not a minute later Rosalie stomped down the stairs in her high heels. She walked around the edge of the staircase and slammed her hand against the top of a bookcase, knocking a vase that held flowers to the floor. Rosalie moved to catch it, but did not get it in time, the vase shattering all over the floor. "Why are they still here?" She asked, ignoring the vase that crunched under her heels. "Rosalie!" Esme cried as she moved to start cleaning up the vase, stopping midstep as she turned and looked at Alice, realizing that she had just predicted the entire thing. "How did you know?" Carlisle asked as he smiled at Alice. "Jasper can do what he does, and I can...well I see things." She said softly. "Oh great, now she thinks she sees things." Rosalie groaned as she moved to stand by the door. "Rose." Carlisle said in a warning tone as he glared at her. "Carlisle, you can not believe them. You don't know them, they could be here to kill us all and you just let them in the front door!?" "Rosalie." Esme said as she stood up from cleaning up glass and glared at Rosalie. "Enough, you are being rude. They are guests in this house, we invited them in. Alice, Jasper are you here to kill us?" She asked in disbelief. "No ma'am." I said. "And you're going to just believe him? If Edward and Emmett were here you wouldn't be doing it this way." "Rosalie, if Edward and Emmett were here we would be doing it exactly the same way. In fact if they were here, Edward would know the truth." Esme said as she swept the rest of the glass up, turning to walk into what had to be a kitchen area. "I'm going to find them." She said as she turned, grabbed her jacket and stormed out the door, slamming it hard behind her. "I'm sorry." Carlisle said as he shook his head. "I didn't know she.." He said as he shook his head, but Alice cut him off before he could finish the sentence. "It's ok Carlisle, Rosalie and I will be very close...like sisters. She's just worried, I don't blame her." Alice said softly. "Alice, could you explain this a little bit for us?" Esme asked as she walked back over and sat next to Carlisle. "I don't know much before...I don't." She said as she got frustrated. "As long as I remember being our kind I have had visions. At first it was little things, like places for me to stay or safe people I would meet. But, eventually it turned into what I have today." "So you see things? How did you know about us?" "Well, let me go back a little bit." She asked. "I was sitting in my room, hiding during the day when I had a vision of a tall, blond man walking into a diner in Pennsylvania. From the vision I knew that I had to be there, I had to meet him..he was important to me." She said as she turned her head and smiled up at me as I leaned down and kissed her forehead softly. "You had a vision about meeting Jasper?" Esme asked in awe. "I did, so I went to the diner and waited. It took a few days but he walked through the door, soaking wet from the rain looking exactly like I knew he would. I scared the daylights out of him, but he was willing to listen to me and believed me. We've been together since." She said as she rest her head against my arm. "You just met her and believed her?" Carlisle asked. "Well...no." I said as I smiled. "I knew when I walked into the diner that there was another of our kind there, and when she bounced off her stool and charged at me I got worried...but well, with my ability I could tell that she wasn't threatening, she was really happy that I was there. I was very confused, but we talked about it and honestly...I couldn't imagine my life without her anymore." "Awwwwww." Esme sighed from her chair. "How did you know about us though?" Carlisle said as he wrapped his arm around Esme. "Well, I had a vision." She said matter of factly. "This is going to sound strange, but please hear me out." They both nodded at her, waiting for her to continue the storry. "Thank you, I had a vision of your family. I knew you were like me, um....you don't survive off of humans, you try to live with them." Alice said as she beamed at them. "In my vision Jasper and I joined your..family? I know that sounds crazy, many people have thought I was and if you want us to leave then we will and we won't bother you anymore." I hugged her tightly against my side, sending her all of the love and pride that I was feeling for her. She turned her head and smiled at me as we waited for them to say something. Neither of them were afraid, Esme was curious while Carlisle was intrigued with both of us. "We need to talk about this for a minute." Carlisle said as he stood up and offered Esme a hand to stand. "If you will excuse us please?" I nodded as I stood and offered Alice my hand, her tiny hand intertwining with mine as we walked out the front door and sat on the steps to the house. We sat there for about twenty minutes when the front door opened and Carlisle asked us to join them again. "We would like to invite you to stay with us, for a while at least. As you probably know Edward can..." Esme said, unsure if she should tell us about him. "He can hear our thoughts." Alice said as she beamed, I tired not to show how surprised I was. "Well, yes. I believe that having you two here would help our family in a lot of ways, but we have to make sure everyone else is alright with it." Carlisle said sounding very diplomatic. "That is understandable." Alice said. "Would you like to stay with us tonight?" Esme asked. "Yes, thank you." Alice said before I could say anything. "Well, let me show you to your room. You two had a long ride, you must want to freshen up." Esme said as she stood up and started walking towards the stairs. We walked up the stairs to the second floor where Esme walked to the second door on the left, pausing before opening the door. She turned and saw Alice stopped in front of the first door, a smile on her face. "Alice?" I asked. "I would like this room, if you don't mind." She said as she turned and smiled at Esme. |
