Thank you for everything, I'm forever grateful. :)love me End of Chapter 19 "Three moths ago, Mr. Anderson called saying that the time had come, my destiny was in motion. That we needed to head here and that I would be a confidant and friend to someone who could not trust others...for her own safety." He said as he touched my face. "We knew enough about Mr and Mrs Anderson, see she has this thing about prophecy's...she hadn't been wrong..well ever as far as anyone can tell. We left that very day, and well...you know the rest from there." I tried to take it all in, to try and process everything that he had just told me. I didn't realize that he was talking to me until he called my name again, this time his voice bringing me back to the present. "What?" I asked, a bit dazed. "We should go back up to the house, you must be tired." "No, can't we just stay here?" I asked as I yawned. "Everyone knows where we are." "But..." He said, stopping himself as he thought about it. "Ok good point, let's just stay here." I relaxed against him the sound of his heart beat rhythm slowly causing me to forget everything but the feel of his arms and the sound of his breathing and heart beat. I closed my eyes and the next thing I knew I heard my mother calling my name, the tone that of when I had kept her waiting. Chapter 20 "Maijalissa," My mothers voice called, the tone one that I knew meant I was in trouble. "Who is this boy?" I turned around and saw her standing next to the river that ran through our property. She looked like I had always remembered, except that when she turned she seemed to glow. Her shoulder length hair, a golden brown color that seemed to have caramel colored highlights throughout. Her smile stretched across her face, but her eyes were narrowed as she waited for me to answer. "Oh.." I said, realizing she had seen me fall asleep in Michael's arms...which meant that she probably saw us kiss, a blush burning my entire face. "Oh, give her a break. Young love, something to be celebrated." The man I now knew was Virbius said as he and Diana walked arm in arm towards us. I blushed again, my ears hurting because of the blush. I wished I would wake up, that I could go back to being with Michael and not have to explain all of this to my mother...no worse..to explain this to three GODS. "Maija, what are you doing? You have things to do, you don't have time for love." My mother said again, as my heart broke. "Oh be nice Ergeia," Diana said as she looked at my mother, which must be her new...Goddess name? I looked up at her, confused..I had always known my mother as Kathleen, a normal mom. "Yes dear, that is how I am known now." She said, knowing me so well. "You are right, now is not the time for this..but know Maijalissa that we will discuss this..boy." I nodded as I looked at my feet, I didn't want to discuss boys..Michael with my mother. I knew she wouldn't approve of my feelings, she would say I was moving too fast...but my heart told me I wasn't. "Maijalissa, may I call you Maija?" Diana said as she placed her hand on my shoulder, causing me to look up at her. "Yeah," I said, realizing that I was talking to gods, I felt like I should be more respectful. "I mean, yes if you would like to." I heard Virbius laugh quietly before he moved up next to Diana and smiled at me. "Maija, we were human once...just like you. Please don't change who you are because of us." He said as he grinned. "It's just strange...I'm talking to GODS." I said as I shook my head in disbelief. "Maija, you know about your Grandfather, Grandmother and aunts...I know you met Selene." She said as she smiled at Diana and Virbius. "Yeah, I guess I have more family then I know what to do with." I said as I laughed. "You have more, that's why we must talk love." She said as she led me down a path to a clearing where there were large stones to sit on. I smiled as Diana and Virbius walked past us, taking seats before my mother and I. I smiled at them both as I sat down, hoping that they would begin to explain what all of this was about. "Maija, you know that your aunts are Nymphs, that another of your aunts are a goddess. Now, what you don't know is that there are more aunts and uncles out there." My mother said as she turned so that she was facing me, laughing when she saw the surprise on my face. "What your mother isn't telling you is that some of them are not going to be happy to hear about you." Virbius said as he joined the conversation. "Maija, you don't have long. What I must tell you is please don't trust anyone, know that you have aunts and uncles that have taken a liking to the darker side of things. They think that you may be able to help them back to power, that you will be able to teach them." She said quickly, like time was running out. "Trust only those around you, the ones you have met, know that there are people out to find you. We have done our best to keep you safe, to keep those we trust with you." Diana said as she smiled at me, which made me feel safe and protected. "I love you Maija, we will be watching out for you..but we can not interfere in this battle. I apologize for not telling you sooner, but it is the way it has to be. Please keep yourself safe." My mother said as I felt myself floating away from her. "I love you," I called to her as I felt myself returning to the normal world again. "As I love you." I heard her voice call to me. Minutes later I opened my eyes, Michael's face inches from mine and looking worried. When he relized that I was looking back at him he sighed loudly then wrapped his arms around me a little tighter, hugging me against him. "You saw your mom again didn't you?" He asked as he hugged me. "Yeah, Diana and Virbius too." I said as I rested my cheek against his chest. "How did you know?" "You went still, I knew you were sleeping but you were so still." He said, obviously I had worried him. "Then you said your mom's name once." "Oh...I'm sorry." I said as I turned my head and looked up at him. "It's alright, I'm glad I was here." He admitted, laughing as I yawned. "Do you want to go back to the house yet?" "Nope." I said as I closed my eyes and rested my head against his chest. "I'd like to stay here if it's alright with you." "Oh, it's more then alright with me." He said softly as he got comfortable again. I smiled, happy because he was excited that we got to spend time together. I nuzzled my head against his chest before closing my eyes, the sound of his breathing causing me to relax and soon I was asleep again. |
