I saw something on the news a while ago that was saying maybe America hasn't hit the right spot on their remake of the Australian series; Kath & Kim.
Judging by two of the images that's been posted it's far too "prettied up". This is a bit of comparisons to the American and Australian versions just looking at the images...
American Kath
She has much more stylised hair
She is wearing a bit mismatched clothes but still of the 2000 era
Australian Kath
She has a perm...nuff said, lol
She's still living in the 80's with her thong leotards and track suits
American Kim
She's skinny
She's looking far too trendy
Looks like any normal girl
Australian Kim
She's of a larger size and tries to fit into the size small clothing
She tries to be trendy with things that really aren't
She has her moments of not looking normal in any way
It will be interesting if they do still find a way to catch the Australian charm of the show but I just think they tried far too hard to make it pretty for the American audiences which creators must...
