What world leader do you admire?
President Lincoln because he spent a lot of his life in Illinois and everything that I. ve read about him made him seem really smart. Also George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, and Harry S. Truman.
How would you change the world?
I would try to invent something that would drastically decrease pollution because pollution is destroying many animal. s habitats. Pollution will cause certain cities near the oceans to be covered with water because the ozone layer is thinning due to pollution causing global warming and melting the ice in Antartica.
How would you change your neighborhood?
I would do my best to stop violence and littering.
What have you learned about power?
I learned that power can be used to change things for good or for bad.
Is power a good thing?
Power can be a good thing if you use it in the right way.
What makes a good leader?
A good leader needs bravery and knowledge and maturity. They have to speak up for what they believe in and speak up for the people who they lead.
Who have been some of the best U.S. presidents, and why?
George Washington . he was the first president, so he had to be good, right? I also like Teddy Roosevelt. He liked bears, that. s why we call teddy bears, TEDDY bears!
Who have been some of the worst U.S. presidents, and why?
George Bush (both of them!) . they both increased the national debt by billions (trillions??) of dollars. I think that our current president needs to stop the war in Iraq. So far, global warming is skyrocketing. Unfortunately, we elected him and he needs to step up take lead of this country.
When you become an adult, what do you think will be the biggest problem facing our nation and/or world?
Global warning because it. s really bad now, so imagine how bad it will be in twenty years.
If you had the power to change one or two things about our country right now, what would it be?
I would stop global warming and stop the war in Iraq.
If you could put into place one law that pertains to kids in our country, what would it be?
Kids should be able to work by the age of 13 or 14 as long at it abides by child labor laws that restrict the number of hours that a kid can work.
Why are some people rich and others poor?
The way that our taxes and the government work, the rich have more advantages and tax breaks. If you are rich, it. s easier to get jobs than if you. re poor. If you. re poor, you can. t always go to college and it makes it harder to get a job because you don. t have a degree.
Do you believe global warming is a fact or a myth? If you think it is a fact, what would you do about it if you were in charge?
It. s a fact. I would give the companies that produce hybrid cars more funding and ask them to reduce their prices so more people would by the cars. And I would try to get other companies to use more solar power. There should be solar powered phone chargers and things like that. I would put the energy saving light bulbs in all government buildings, including the White House, and I would ask other companies to do the same. I would get buses to run on solar power. And every house should have a solar powered pad on the roof.
If you were in charge of immigration, would everyone be allowed to enter the country? Would illegal immigrants be allowed to stay?
Well, we can. t overpopulate the United States but I feel bad for people who want to come here and maybe can. t. I would try to let in as many as possible. I would do my best to help illegal immigrants to get the right paperwork.
If you were in charge of education, would art class be as important as math?
Yes because kids need to learn how to express themselves.
Do you belong to any organizations or clubs?
Chicago Children. s Choir
If you could switch places with one person, who would it be and why?
No one. I. m happy just the way I am.
