Is 2008 debut year?

Ok I know the number 8 is supposed to represent "Good Luck" in Chinese teachings and whatnot, but what is up with all the groups debuting this year? I have seen at least 5 new boybands that have/will debut this year (SHINee, DNT, U-Kiss, SMASH, R-eal and some others I can't remember). There's only 1 girl band, TOUCHS, that will debut supposedly by the end of the year or in January of next year. Are SM Ent., YG, JYP, and these other MRL's having some kind of competition? lol I mean I don't mind having new music to lsiten to, but some of the memebers in the new groups look like artists that ALRAEDY debuted. They're all starting to look and sound alike! O.o They're mostly hip hop groups... what happened to rock and "ballad" groups? *sigh* well I'm kindda done ranting...lol What do u guys think?
