I just needed to have a spot where we could talk about all the season 10 eps as they come without starting a new thread for each one. If there's anything you need to get off your chest or out of your system about this season here is the place to do it!
I'd like to start off with this weeks ep Persona. I was absolutely riveted the entire time I was watching it. Seems like her 3 day conference on battered women was the perfect preparation for this. Pretty intense stuff. The whole Donnelly thing was unexpected but very interesting.
Towards the end though, I became very worried about Liv. She keeps getting so invested in these cases I feel she is teetering on the verge of snapping like a twig. Let's hope El can pull her back from the ledge before she falls.
*takes deep breath* Ok i'm done for now. Tell me what you guys think, am I crazy?
your not crazy svuroxmysox. I agree 100% with everything you said. I dont like seeing Olivia like this it makes me want to cry :C. Everyone from svu NOT just Elliot needs to be there for her and help her. The SVU is like a family to her and she needs them. Also I think this would be a good time to bring back Olivia's half brother Simon.
I could not agree more, she really does need her family right now, including Simon. I'm beginning to think that PTSD may be more about her than the case. *gasp* Maybe Liv's the one with PTSD!!!
I think it's one of those things they do a lot on SVU where the name of the ep has something to do with something going on in the lives of one of the detectives, and also has something to do with the case. So I'm pretty sure we're gonna see Liv suffering from PTSD...
I liked Persona, it was good, but not one of my favourites. I found it dragged a little in the middle (ie. the long talk in the interrogation room between the vic/perp and liv) and it was pretty predictable. It was obvious from the get go that the woman who lived downstairs from the original victim (sorry, can't remember their names) was a former victim of spousal abuse. Loved the first half though!
Earlier on in the episode, did anyone else think that the woman living downstairs (that killed her husband 20 odd years ago) had a child with her abuser and gave it up for adoption, and it was either the wife or the husband that lived upstairs? Cos that's what I was thinking, but then it ended up that she had been pregnant when she shot her husband, but got an abortion.... I think it could have been an interesting twist if either her A) son had have grown up to be an abuser like his father, or B) daughter had become a second-generation victim.
That would have been an extremely interesting twist, ebathory! I never thought of it that way. The woman and the vic did seem to be pretty close though.
I agree that it was pretty predictable. When the vic moved back in w/ her husband I said to myself 'aw man, he's gonna kill her' and that's what happened!
I know this is random but for some reason, when the whole Donnelly thing was happening, I totally thought that that woman was gonna turn out to be some crazy psychopathic killer or something. idk, i'm always expecting the unexpected.
I thought Donnelly kinda lost it... I agree. Most likely Liv will be the one to get PTSD. I tend to like the character centric episodes so I'm looking forward to it. :)
i can bet you $100 i will cry during tomorrow night's episode.
well....then again i think i have cried during every episode since the new one after the writer's strike...and lets not even begin to talk about undercover...aha..cried my eyes out.....
other than that im superrrr excited!!! :D
I think I'm like a sociopath b/cuz I never cry at movies or tv, I don't know why, i do get rather emotional but the real tears never come. I would have to say that undercover was the closest I have ever come to actual tears though.
Anyway, I do kinda have a bad feeling that PTSD will be really sad. I don't know how much more of this I can take!
ok I didn't shed a tear however after that what I thought was an AWESOME scene in the hotel I was sooooo tense lol pretty much like liv was when she flew into that picture.
I'm not kidding when I say you could drop a quarter on like my leg and it would bounce off I was so tense lol then of course after the previews for next week I got this terrible cramp in my foot LOL
Yeah I'm with you there svuroxmysox, I pretty much never cry at movies/tv shows unless I'm a little drunk. I'm just about to watch PTSD now, let you guys know what I think lol!
umm ok so next episode looks like liv is in it. actually not a surprise she didnt take off... i do have to say i was a tad bit disappointed with PTSD..idk what i expected just something a lil more emotional..? idk
I totally agree det_benson. It just didn't live up to the hype but I think "Smut" looks good. I can't believe none of you cry! I guess I'm just an emotional wreck. :)
I was a little shocked at the end, I did not expect Liv to open up to a perfect stranger like that, especially one who she had previously thought was a rapist. He was cute tho and I think he kinda liked her! :P Also, I was not surprised that she didn't take the vacation time, i mean when does she ever? But I was kinda sad b/cuz I think she really does need a break.
I definitely agree with you det_benson, It could have been somewhat more emotional than it was.
She never takes vacation time! Even when they force it upon her, she works anyways! I must say, I think a little R&R with the new guy would be interesting, especially if it causes some Stabler jealousy!
im still happy that Elliot and Olivia are weorking together in the next episode. Im hoping for some "Wildlife" talk or some Undercover" and "PTSD" talk

Any thoughts?
I think ths season liv is gonna break...no matter how much I'd hate 2 c it I think it's gonna happen...

Soo can't wait!!!
