* PACE Center for Girls Inc. has announced the appointment of Vacharee Howard as executive director of its center in Immokalee. Howard will be responsible for the center's administrative operations, organization/development, fundraising and fiscal management. She brings extensive experience in public policy and social services, including child and family counseling, mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as a strong background in public policy and advocacy. * Two gynecologists with Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida were named among the "Best Doctors in America" by Castle Connolly Medical in New York. Heather Auld, M.D., and Mary Yankaskas, M.D., were nominated for the honor by other doctors. Both physicians also were included in the 2006 list. Burbrink is a professional in environmental engineering, with more than 30 years of experience in Florida. The award honors individuals for distinction in their technical field and mode of practice. * Bill B. Berke of the Southwest Florida law firm Berke Lubell has been elected to the Florida Justice Association board of directors.
