for films how about Loving Annabelle, Gray Matters, the incredibly true adventure of two girls in love, Lost and Delerious D.E.B.S.
Can't really think of any shows directly based on lesbians, but there's ones that include them such as Queer as Folk (Lindsay and Mel) Skins S3(Emily and Naomi) or Grey's Anatomy (which i haven't yet seen passed season 3...so i'm not sure how good that is.)
Forgot to mention "Affinity" last time which is the most recent of Sarah Waters novels to be adapted for TV.
Though I suggest reading the book, which is a fantastic piece of storytelling and the adaptation is AWFUL. Does no justice to the book whatsoever. And the two leads are dire I swear I have more chemistry with broom then they do with each other!
And another for movies "My Summer of Love" which I haven't seen yet, but wish to desperately as Emily Blunt is in it.
another movie i just watched which i really liked is "i can't think straight" there's another one with the same 2 lead actresses...but i can't think of the name. Don't know what that ones like.
Lol I've seen "Can't think Straight" too. I loved this quote
"I'm Gay"
"But I've only been gone two hours."
It's a nice little romantic comedy.
Not long ago I finally saw "Imagine me and You" it's already been mentioned here, but I totally adored so wanted to give it another shotout!!! Lena Headey!
MOVIES:
101 Reykjavik (French-German-Scandinavian drama)
Aimee & Jaguar (German war drama)
Better Than Chocolate (Canadian)
Between Two Women (British drama)
Blow Dry (American comedy)
Chasing Amy (American)
Egymásra nézve (Hungarian drama with Polish actors, I don't know if it was even translated into English)
Fucking Amal (Scandinavian drama)
Gia (American biographical)
Heavenly Creatures (British drama)
If These Walls Could Talk 2 (American)
Kissing Jessica Stein (American comedy)
My Mother Likes Women (Spanish comedy)
Rent (American musical)
The Chinese Botanist's Daughters (French-Chineese drama)
Also Fried Green Tomatoes. I know it's all in the subtext, but it's so there, you'd have to be blind to not see the chemistry and the underlying knowledge of there being something more than just friendship between Ruth and Idgie. It's also a fantastic film and won the GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian alliance against defamation) for best picture in 1991.
When Ruth watches Idgie fetch the fresh honey, god the desire in her eyes in that moment is somehow better than any overt showing of affection imo.
while surfing the net I found Japanese lesbian movie called Love My Life. Haven't seen it yet, but I thougth you'd be intrested.
Oh, and in 88 Minutes there's lesbian character :)
I know it's been mentioned but I've ONLY just seen Skins series 3 and OMG Emily and Naomi have to be one of the best coming out stories I've ever seen on TV.
Bravo channel 4, bravo. Thank you for making such a wonderful and daring storyline. And I can't wait to see what season 4 brings for them!
Oh jeez you haven't seem them!? Oh my they are like the only thing in Skins (S3) I care about (except for the Effy/Pandora friendship), they MADE the last season. The rest of the couples just kind of paled in comparison. Heck you can't compare them. Naomi and Emily's story is about love, and the Effy/Cook/Freddie triangle mess was utter crap in which Effy was basically a slut. The only proper romantic love story last season was Naomily (which people loved) the rest was just mindless who slept with who.
If it wasn't for the amazingness that is Naomliy the show would have died given the cast change imo.
And for TV there was Andrew Davis's adaptations of "Tipping the Velvet" and "Fingersmith."
