Think these are the moments Cal's talking about? (Tim Roth--Murder in the Heartland)
|
This was such an amazing episode, and I'm not just saying that, it really was. It shot right to my #1 favorite episode, and that's because it was just fantastic.
This show really works well when it has just one case like this, and it keeps you hooked right until the end. That's how it should be. Just fantastic.
Since this is just a 1 case episode, I will only run over Cal's scenes/the ones in Afganistan because thats where the whole episode really took place.
--
Now we begin IN Afganistan, the war torn country, and a fantastic scene where 2 marines are captured. It's not fantastic that they were captured...but it was intence.
And over at the Lightman Group, there's a GIANT Christmas tree. I fell off of my seat laughing at this scene, Cal's ackward look at 'Dick--erm, RICK Massey' and how Cal thinks that this tree and the Christmas party is a conspiracy. Wow.
But once Cal and Gillian are dragged over into their office, and confronted with a Top Secret mission...things take a turn.

One of my favorite episodes this season, by far. Last weeks episode I nearly died trying to keep up with my notes, and this one was a breeze. The 'A case' was interesting (something seemingly rare this season) and as was the 'B case'.
In short; I was impressed.
--
We begin with a Christmasy scene, and a crowd of people. Now since I live in Canada, I have no idea what Black Friday is except a suicide mission. People die trying to get into a store, for crying out loud...just walk into one any other day. Why go when theres thousands of people?!?!
Back to the case. A child slips on some ice, and her dad freaks out, and voila. We are left with the Mob effect.
"Did Calculus get harder since we took it?" "That's what I said!" It's nice to watch a TV character doing math homework. It's a good excuse to not do my own math homework. (Not like I have any)
But don't you just love Cal's apron?? It reminds me of V for Vendetta...if you've seen that movie, then you won't make me sound like a crazy person by saying that. Anyways, Gillian's there...which is ackward, and this kid, 'Max' (for now) found Cal and wants his help. 'Max'...

Well here it is, folks! The day we've all been waiting for for months!! The season 2 Premire of Lie to Me!! Wow! That just flew by, didn't it?! One second I'm going into Lie to Me withdrawal, next I'm curled up into a ball laughing histarically on the floor because my Cable box cut out in the middle of this episode! So I'm sorry ahead of time if I miss any details in the middle, but from what I saw in the rest of the episode, I think I pieced it together.
Now let's get this party started!!
We open with an INTENCE scene, lot's of blood, bringing to mind a Jack the Ripper case, and so it begins. This has to be one of the most interesting cases right next to last seasons 'Blinded'.
Cal is promoting his new book, 'The Lies We Tell' and boy, that was a good scene. Not only did Tim Roth look AMAZING while he was scanning the crowd, but Cal brought up the fact that no one looked him in the eye. Gee, I wonder why?
Of course, we meet out main girl(s) of this case, claiming that she's witnessed a murder...but in 1st person, she didn't commit it because it was a 'Man' that she saw in the mirror. Naturally, no one believes her...Cal does.
