It was bizarre. I knew it wasn't going to end like the UK version, but I thought at least they go with something more plausible. I just loved how it ended in the original...I guess I wanted it to end that way too.

I haven't seen the UK version so I can't compare it to that. However, the ending to me was weird. It felt like they rushed to put it together. I don't I wish the ending would have been different.
