1.
Plan: Fly over the Mount Doom on an Eagle and drop the ring in the lava.
Flaws: Frodo might not drop it.

2.
Plan: Create a time machine and stop Sauron from making the ring.
Flaws: That would take a loooooooooooooooong time.

3.
Plan: Pretend to be on Sauron's side then when you’re near Mount Doom throw in the ring.
Flaws: Sauron would take the ring before you got that chance

4.
Plan: Have people go into Mordor and reroute the lavas flow to a safe place where Frodo can throw the ring in easily.
Flaws: The number of people it would take to do that wouldn’t go unnoticed, and won't that take to long to?

5.
Plan: Have Tom Bombadil take the ring into Mordor since he is not affected by it and has power that Frodo doesn't.
Flaws: Tom Bombadil refused.

6.
Plan: Bring the Army of the Dead into Mordor and kill all the armies of Mordor then have Frodo destroy the ring.
Flaws: Aragorn wasn't thinking when he made the deal with the King of the Dead

7.
Plan: Call numerous people the Ring Bearer (But have only one) and send them different directions to confuse Sauron and divert his attention from "Ring bearer" to "Ring bearer".
Flaws: No volunteers stepped forward to pretend to be the Ring Bearer, who would want Sauron's eye on them and possibly the Nazgul after them?

8.
Plan: Leave Middle Earth and travel to the undying lands
Flaws: It's immpossible...

9.
Plan: Give Sauron the ring.
Flaws: Who would want Sauron ruling over them?

10.
Plan: Give the ring to Gondor to use for good.
Flaws: In the end it wouldn't be used for good.

11.
Plan: Find another place other than Mount Doom to destroy the ring.
Flaws: There is no other place.

12.
Plan: Talk Sauron out of his want to take over the world and talk him into living peacefully
Flaws: Sauron wouldn't listen, he was to busy searching for the ring

13.
Plan: Try to convince all of Sauron's armies and followers to come onto your side then go into Mordor easily.
Flaws: They weren't being persuaded.

14.
Plan: Make a fake ring and go to Sauron and give it to him, while Frodo takes the real ring and destroys it.
Flaws: Sauron could tell that it wasn't the real ring

15.
Plan: Ignore the Ring, it can't do that much harm... can it?
Flaws: They all sat there staring at the ring.

16.
Plan: Destroy Sauron so he can’t use the ring.
Flaws: He can only be destroyed when the ring is destroyed.

17.
Plan: Waylaid a Nazgul while he's searching for a ring, dress up as him, steal his mount and go into Mordor easily.
Flaws: How do you waylaid a Nazgul and keep him someplace?

18.
Plan: Travel a longer route to Mordor to throw Sauron off.
Flaws: What would that accomplish in the long run?

19.
Plan: Throw the ring faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away and into the sea.
Flaws: It will somehow be found again

20.
Plan: Flip ahead in the books and see how it all ends and what to do.
Flaws: They don't have the books

hmmm
Ever since I saw the video "How The Lord of the Rings Should Have Ended", I never understood why they didn't use the #1 alternative....

It might have worked... but there are a lot of people (And eagles) involved that could be swayed by the ring... and who knows, maybe even the eagles wanted the ring.
I'm glad that isn't the way it happened, both the movies and the books would be a LOT shorter :)

Well, the nazgul can sort of sense the ring, right? They'd know it was coming and waylay the eagle/bearer... and there were a whole lot of sentries & stuff on the borders of Mordor, they wouldn't let an eagle just fly right in. I don't know!

I really don't think the eagle thing would have worked. Frodo was to destroy the ring and not call too much attention to himself. Had he or someone else flown on an eagle, the entire army of Mordor would have destroyed him much before he reached Mount Doom. Even so all the plans and flaws were quite interesting to read.

For number 6, the dead army was only cursed until they had protected Gondor in a great battle.

Yes you’re right for in the books but I am also using the movie for some of them and in the movie they made it seem that they had a choice to let them free or not.
