spikes_girl picked The March of the Ents in Isengard:
My favorite are the ones at Minas Tirith, but most impressed would be the March of the Ents. All I can think of during this scene is "Wow."
It is epic!
The battles at Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith were the most visually spectacular. I pretty much love any battle scene with Aragorn in it! ;) Oh, and by the way, the fight in Moria was Gandalf vs. a balrog

green79,
"who would choose The Fight In Mount Doom (Frodo vs. Gollum) ?? ;P"
Those who prefer psychological intensity over massive battles with weapons and lots of blood and dropping heads. And there is even more to that particular fight.
I love Frodo VS. Gollum the best. Both by the time equally corrupted by the Ring, and Frodo was at that very point the new Lord of the Rings as he had claimed the Ring for his own at the Crack of Doom. Frodo's psycho expression as he gets up and at Gollum a bit after Gollum had bit off Frodo's finger which is pretty psychotic too. Frodo VS. Gollum fight the tip of the iceberg so to say, the real climax of the ENTIRE War of the Ring. THAT's why I pick Frodo VS. Gollum. I don't care even nearly as much for the massive battles that were only supporting the chance of the good guys winning. I vote for the one fight that sealed the fate of Middle-Earth. That happened after all hope truly seemed lost because Frodo had given in, and Sam... Sam did not know what to do. Did you notice how utterly helpless and lost he looked when Frodo disappeared from sight when putting the ring on? In the moment just before Gollum knocked him (Sam) out with the rock. All three characters also put so much emotion to their parts in it.
THAT fight is truly epic, in my opinion. (:
My second favorite would be Sam VS. Shelob simply because it's the ultimate one to show the depth of Sam's love and loyalty to Frodo. I just wish they had made Shelob the bookverse version - as in at least 2 times the size She is in this film. It really wasn't THAT impressive in the film if you didn't keep on thinking why Sam was doing it.
My third favorite is Gandalf VS. Balrog. Very impressive with all the things Gandalf said to keep Balrog restrained and they had made Balrog look really awesome.
