TV Squad Ten: Canadians who shine on US TV Mar 09, 2009 at 05:01PM Source: TV SquadFiled under: Other Drama Shows, Lost, Scrubs, Smallville, Grey's Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, Celebrities, Reaper, Reality-Free In case you didn't know, I'm Canadian. That being said, I watch tons and tons of American TV, partially because our main English channels -- CTV and Global, just to name two -- mostly air US shows. And, let's admit it, I enjoy a lot the shows created by my friends south of the border. Since there are more TV shows produced in the US and because actors can make more money down south, a lot of Canadian actors go to the USA. to work (or try to get work in a US show shot in Vancouver or Toronto). Here I present you with ten Canadian actors currently starring in lead roles in various primetime US TV shows. Did you know these ten actors were not from the US? Lost: Should Sawyer be with Kate or Juliet? Mar 05, 2009 at 01:03PM Source: TV SquadFiled under: Lost, Watercooler Talk, Reality-Free As the great philosopher Rick Springfield once said, you better love somebody, it's late. You better love somebody, don't wait. You better love somebody, don't...tempt fate. That's sort of what happened with Sawyer and Juliet did on last night's episode of Lost, isn't it?Kate is gone, and Sawyer didn't know if he was going to see her again. Same with Jack. Juliet didn't know what was going to happen. So Sawyer and Juliet got together. I'm not saying that they "settled" for each other because they didn't have anyone else (though when you're on an island and you don't have many choices...). I'm sure they actually fell in love in the three years depicted in the episode. And then at the end, Kate returns to the island and Sawyer has to deal with all of it again. Oh oh. (This show has something for everybody, whether you like soap opera love triangle plots or killer smoke monsters and time travel.) Continue reading Lost: Should Sawyer be with Kate or Juliet?

Another LOST - 24 Connection Mar 05, 2009 at 08:44AM Source: Lost.comOf course, it seemed obvious while watching LaFleur the second time. The TV Guide article also tells us that Amy has given birth to someone 'special.' Well, we know it's a boy, so that rules out Kate! (I hope)Hurley looks too much like Cheech. Miles looks too much like Marvin Candle... hmmmm... Ethan Rom, Neil Frogurt? Someone on the board thinks the baby might actually be Sawyer since Sawyer first looked at Amy with a hint of recognition. It would certainly be a trip , if Sawyer were to have saved his on mother and thus himself. Episode 10 is an Amy episode and it is entitled He's Our You. It's the sort of thing that makes your brain hurt. Yes - sometimes, it's best just to watch the next episode. |

Lost: LaFleur Mar 05, 2009 at 07:45AM Source: TV SquadFiled under: OpEd, Lost, Episode Reviews, Reality-Free
I think the best way to describe this episode was safe. Nothing crazy or out of place happened and you knew how it was going to end the second it began. Think of it this way - when we first started watching Lost, it was like dumping a giant puzzle onto the floor. At this point, the entire puzzle is assembled, and for the most part, we can almost see the big picture, save for a bunch of pieces that are still missing. "LaFleur" was one of those pieces.
