Its a nice thought.... well backed up, but I'm not sure. It can just as easily be explained by the 'radiation at his head' scene in The Constant, and the numerous unexplained effects the virus has on certain people, and with his scientific knowledge perhaps he is more in tune with them, as he is expecting these things to happen, and therefore looking for them, so he feels them etc. The Losties and others do not as they are not scientifically in tune with the island. So whereas Locke is in tune with the island spiritually, Daniel is the scientific opposite in that respect.

Just a thought though... both are valid, but its these little discussions that help us understand whats going on a little better. Cheers for that!
