Does anyone know the name of the Michael Caine movie in which he gives a book to the baddie that is coated in poison. Saw the end of the film many years ago but never found out what it was called.
Are you sure it was Michael Caine? There was a poisoned book in the movie "In the Name of the Rose" starring Sean Connery.

No, I know that film. This was a spy film from the mid to late 60s. Caine is forced to hand over the book (in a plastic bag) to the bad dude. When he starts reading it he realises his fate and snuffs it - great ending.
He played a spy named Harry Palmer in 3 movies during the sixties. There was "The Ipcress File", "Funeral in Berlin" and "Billion Dollar Brain". He made 2 more Harry Palmer movies later on "Midnight in St. Petersburg" and "Bullet to Beijing". Hope that helps :)
