Friday night and im off down the cinema, i decide to check into the film 1408, which you may know is a Steven King adaptation. The film is rated 15 but by the lack of intelligence my fellow cinema goers demonstrated last night it could have well been rated U and they still would have had trouble following it (or i think its G if your from america)

A group of Say 10 borderline looking youths entered the screen (oh great i thought expecting to receive a barrage of popcorn to the head, along with everyone else in there)

A short while into the film it became obvious to which the direction of the rest of my film time would pan out by a girl saying rather loudly "This film is wierd". You dont say i thought, have you never heard of steven king?? Looking back, at this point I should have left but i gave them a benefit of the doubt and on top i had received no popcorn to the head either

When the plot deepened however (read the spoilers below if you want to know exactly what happened) they seemed to loose track of the plot completely, they were talking and were so confused i doubted a few of them would be able to find there way home after the film. You know feeling you get, the "im going to have to say something but i soo hope someone else does" feeling was raging away, but thankfully this was not my turn to be that person someone else gave the pissed off "shhh" sound so they shut up

So this doesnt happen again i think the cinema should make people take an iq test before they see a film to make sure they are going to understand it, and thus if they dont, they wouldnt be spoilng other movie goers experiences.

SPOILER! - Below contains a couple of spoilers to do with the plot of the film 1408, i have included so that you to can share in the idiocy i had to put up with while watching the film. So if you dont want to know then i suggest you stop reading now....

The door. a door appears in the middle of the room and one fool yells out why doesnt he just open it, when the scene is all about the moral dilema of what is on the other side of this door. While another says how stupid is that?? a door just appeared, about 10 minutes previously it had snowed inside room 1408 and the wall had burst and was leaking a dark colour liquid. and now they are confused about the apparation of a door.
John Also felt my pain...

My Problem is that I am one of those people who like to tell people to "Shut Up"

i never go to the movies anyways but i hate people that won't shut up like that in general. Example: one girl talked for 1 and a half hours non stop in a class room...i didn't actually want to hear her life story if she didn't realise. People need to learn to shut up sometimes.

I'm a hardcore movie fan so that would really annoy me. Some people, in this case youths, go to the cinema just for something to do. I think it's better than them lurching about picking up ASBO's and mugging old grannies. However, that is rude when you're trying to watch a film so i totally get where you're coming from.

I would have been the person that turned around and yelled at them if they dared to that whilst I was in the cinema. People really have to learn that noone else cares that they're confused whilst doing something high above their own levels.

Bah ha ha ha, I've only just found this, but oh God, do I love it! That is the most irritating thing in the world! I have suggested separate cinemas but some consider that too extremist!

Shoot, you should go to the movies in the ghetto. Nobody shuts up. Including the adults.
