A link to NBC's full 2008-09 schedule can be found HERE.
Every year when NBC's new schedule comes out, I create a long rant/bitchfest. This year is definately no exception. If you choose to read on, please keep in mind that this was written at 3 in the morning. ;)
Just when you think NBC can't possibly get any dumber, the new lineup comes out. Not only am I currently suffering, knowing that Adam Beach and Diane Neal have been given the axe from Law and Order: SVU, but this schedule makes me want to vomit. Lets take it one step at a time...
FALL 2008
MONDAY
Chuck: Never watched it, but I've heard it doesn't suck too bad.
Heroes: Sweet. At least they've managed to get something right.
The Philanthropist: Wow, this sounds exciting. <--sarcasm. Lots.
TUESDAY
The Biggest Loser: Families: I can't really complain, it's one of my guilty pleasure shows, so...
Kath & Kim: Wow, this sounds entertaining. *blank stare*
WEDNESDAY
Knight Rider: I might be okay with this. Might.
Deal or No Deal: Gag me with a spork. There are few things I hate worse than this show. <insert Dr. Cox style rant>
Lipstick Jungle: Woohoo. Because I loved it so much the first time around... *gag*
THURSDAY
My Name is Earl: Suckfest. First season was good, now it grows more retarded by the episode.
30 Rock: One of the few that's actually getting better. No complaints.
The Office: Of course I'm glad to see this back.
SNL Thursday Night Live: Three words. WHAT THE... okay, two and one implied. Seriously. THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE? ARE YOU FRIGGIN SERIOUS? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE SOMETHING THAT'S BEEN THE SAME SINCE 1975?!? It says it's only for three weeks leading up to the presidential race, but I don't care. It's SATURDAY Night Live, dammit. It should be illegal to change that.
FRIDAY
Crusoe: I'm guessing something like Survivor with a bit of a plot? *yawn*
Deal or No Deal: AGAIN?!? Isn't one night of this torture ENOUGH? I'm starting to think that they're trying to hypnotize viewers with Howie Mandel's shiny dome so that one day, when summoned, there will be a Baldie Army at NBC's service. Be afriad.
Life: I guess it didn't get axed, after all. Almost makes me wish I'd watched it... nah.
SATURDAY
Dateline: *yawn*
Knight Rider Encores: Opinion pending.
SVU Encores: That'll work.
SUNDAY
4 hours of football. Every girls' dream.
WINTER 2009
MONDAY
Same as fall 2008.
TUESDAY
The Biggest Loser: Couples: Deja vu, anyone?
Kath & Kim: Again, sounds greeeeat. <--extreme sarcasm.
L&O SVU: Always glad to have that around...
WEDNESDAY
The only change from fall is that Lipstick Jungle has been replaced with Law and Order. Much better.
THURSDAY
The Office Spinoff: I'm afraid.
ER/Celebrity Apprentice: I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's had it with the celebrities. Get some real people back, Trump!
FRIDAY
Deal or No Deal: *twitch*
Friday Night Lights: This is both good and bad. The good part is, it's finally back. The bad part is, it didn't come on NBC in the fall. Supposedly, it's being moved to cable for the fall, and then back to NBC in 2009. So I guess I'll be watching online, since I have no intention of getting cable.
I'm not even going to get into the Summer of 2009: Reality Shows. *groan*

2008-2009 SEASON
MONDAY
Chuck: Never watched it. Not for, or against it.
Heroes: Nothing wrong with the show (although I do hate that they are beating The Office for more fans on here).
The Philanthropist: As confusing as it sounds (by what the title is telling me).
TUESDAY
The Biggest Loser: If I want to see people lose weight and go through excruciating pain to get there, I'll go to the gym with a chair and watch them work out while eating a Subway sandwhich.
Kath and Kim: Sounds like a womans show, but Molly Shannon may bring me in.
Law and Order SVU (coming in 2009): I'm not really into the detective crime dramas, so I really have no opinion on this show.
WEDNESDAY
Knight Rider: What's the point? You want to watch Knight Rider, get it on DVD. All I have to say to NBC on this one is, Bionic Woman, Bionic Woman.
Deal or No Deal: Tired, old, and has gotten more boring to watch as time has gone. Time to put this pony out to stud.
Lipstick Jungle: One title: Lipstick Sex and the Jungle City. I think you can figure this out.
2009 Law and Order: Same comment as with the SVU version.
THURSDAY
My Name is Earl: Keeps getting worse. I loved it at first. A man making up for his mistakes in life and doing it by a list. That is a show with and endless streak of episode possibilities. It started getting worse when he started to cross off things for doing nothing, like when he stole silverwear from a museum, and then when it maraculously returned back to the museum, crossed it off his list without doing anything (like giving a donation to the museum), and when it was his birthday and everybody crossed off one thing off his list, but the time that told me that the show was going downhill was when he went to jail for Joy's crime. That's when I said, this show has given up on it's original premise, I'm out!
30 Rock: Hate it! A show that's too political, and with irritating characters. I call it an Emmy show because I feel they are just in it for the hardware. I know a lot of people and critics like it, but I can't stand it!
The Office: You don't cancel the best show on television!
Saturday Night Live Thursday style: I hate this idea. It's going to be 3, 90 minute long shows about the presidential race. I already hate turning on the tv at 8:35 (I live in Vancouver, and have access to Eastern channels) and seeing that the first sketch is always eather about Obama, or Obama in his race for the Democratic nomination, or how Obama is going to be presidency. To put up with 90 minutes of that would make me search for the closest loaded gun.
2009 The Office Spinoff: DarkSarcasm took the words right out of my mouth. I'm afraid.
ER: The last season. Never watched it, but it looked ok. A little too much drama for me.
2009 Celebrity Apprentice: I like the Celebrity Apprentice. I felt last season of the Apprentice was the greatest season of the Apprentice. Seeing all those celebrities and their ego's fight it out for money that was going to charities was so funny it almost seemed made up.
FRIDAY:
Crusoe: ?
Deal or No Deal: Tired, old, and has gotten more boring to watch as time has gone. Time to put this pony out to stud. Looks like a repeat of what I have already said right? Well it is *wink, wink*.
Life: I thought this show was cancelled. Didn't they cancel this show? Well they have cursed it to the dreaded Friday night time slot so it is cancelled in some way.
2009 Friday Night Lights: I have never watched this show, and since it is moving half of it's shows to a US only cable network, and I can't watch it on the internet due to restrictions, I guess I never will.
I'm not going to do Saturday, as none of the major networks (except for FOX) really care about giving Saturday prime the time of day.
SUNDAY
National Football League Sunday Night Football: Ohh great, 4 hours of coverage of a bastard league that's trying to kill my Canadian Football League. I spit on this National Football League *pu!*.
This list is incomplete however as I found on this Wikipedia article that said the their are 8 shows not mentioned in the article. This is most likly due to the fact that these shows have not really been announced yet, so the plot is still unknown. Look out, as I may do my own rant soon about NBC's summer season. Now I am done.
Question: while SNL Thursdays (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!) are going on, is there also going to be SNL on Saturday?
EDIT: tvman - I know that some people don't like 30 Rock, but too political? Just out for the hardware? Really?
