.Personally i think there is more going for a Kate/Gbbs relationship than there is for Kate/Tony- . . I also think that Gibbs after three divorces would know when to compromise and his personality is more similar to Kate's than Tony's is and Gibbs and Kate are more serious although they both have a softer sid. With Tony and Kate, it has never seemed serious, more like harmless flirting that isn't going anywhere, although the writers like playing with this aspect of the show.Kate and Tony just don't seem serious with each other and i have a hard time imagining them getting serious,which is absolutely necessary for one relationship . Also think that Tony and Kate's personalities would clash and I have gotten the impression that they're emotional opposites and I think because of this it would be hard for them to become serious.What drew their shippers to them,is their playful banter -THAT will change ,if they become serious.
My observations of life shows that still waters run deep.There was real warmth between those two characters, even when they were sniping at each other. Don't believe me? Go back and look at the DVDs of seasons 1 and 2, and notice the looks and the smiles
that passed between them on a regular basis. Usually rather subtle,
but there was heat, or at least real warmth! Now THAT could've made Gibbs break his own Rule 12. Tony and Kate talk too much so I don't think something was ment to happen-too much talking,no action, although the writers like playing with this aspect of the show.

He had a longing look as Kate was walking away.Don't you remember Sub Rosa-there were so many things they coulda shown to demonstrate the sub angling quickly. Kate coulda fallen off a chair or somthing, but no, they had to make her fall into Gibbs' arms. Don't you remember Tony made a comment about a rose tattoo on her butt, and Gibbs said it wasn't a rose in 1.12 My Other Left Foot.Don't you remember at the beginning of Revile, Gibbs has a nightmare of Kate being in a body bag.Than,latter,Kate call him her boyfriend.Don't you remember the butt slap that Gibbs gave Kate in 2.6: Terminal Leave.Don't you remember 'An Eye for an Eye' -the all conversation with the lady and Kate's reaction to that:Wow!.Don't you remember the all conversation about virues and the 'Play safe-go with Tony 'line in 'SWAK'and so on,and so on...
The last ,but not the least-don't you remember that DPB tried to diffuse the spark between them- he added the mysterious red head to prevent the tension between Kate and Gibbs-if all that's not an Unresolved Sexual Tension ,then you don't have a clue what Unresolved Sexual Tension is.:)
They were ment for each other. I really miss the chemistry between them. It made me want to see the show every week. Now Tony is sad and unhappy. I miss her.
He had hots for her-she did't loved him the way he loved her.Kate liked him,but more like a brother than a potential lover.Kate was never serious with Tonyand her comments to him could be quite hurtful. Kate -in some small way- was still living up to the childhood conditioning shed received which trained her to believe that the strongest contestant made war - not love.
If I had to pick it'd be Tate. Tiva is better, but personally Kibbs would not work. Gibbs was perfectly fine by himself.

I agree with dg102-if you watch S1&2,you will see how Kate patiently changed Gibbs-he is rarely grumpy,when she is in the toom with him and he,opossite to Jen ,always listen to her theories-not to mention that Gibbs never slaped her on te back of the head-she was one of the few with that privilege-Gibbs told even Abby once he will slap her.The 2 persons who can make Gibbs smile,are Kate and Abby.Kate is a great math for Gibbs.

touzz and others - I don't agree with you. Kate certainly regarded Tony as more like brother. And Kate was attractive for Tony. It's evident, that their funny quarrels was only mask of their love. Even if Kate tried to cover it, they seemed like couple - I feel it always when I see them together. I have never had this feeling with Gibbs.
It's a pity that Kate didn't play in next season, because I'm convinced my words would become true.

Hate is a pretty strong word-dislike maybe-but still-that DOESN'T mean she dislike Gibbs,because he give her difficult appointments-again we have 2 strong characters-one give annoying or difficult appointments,the other not only shows that dislikes it,but do a great job on them.And that made Gibbs proud of her,and Kate shows that way that she have "balls"-which Gibbs liked in very first ep.

She was still a probie-and it WASN'T her fault-her friend decided to tell her Boss about the favour Kate want from her.Kate told him why her friend did it"on her place/her friend/,I'll do the same."Kate HAD a point-Gibbs tryed to make her do something not so good-for him maybe this is something ordinary,but not for Kate,who always go by the book.After tha she changed-she said it herself later:I would never suggest that,before I stared to work here."She always assert her POV-and that was one of the things Gibbs liked in her.:)

13.His three ex wives were red-haired, Kate wasn't.
Are we talking about the same Jethro Gibbs,who kissed a BLOND woman in "Doppelganger",and his now ex-girlfriend Hollis Mann was BLOND woman too?He had a things for readheads only because he wanted to restore his relationship with his first wife.He definitely had lovers with heair color,diferent than red.
14.She said Tony to be careful, because if he(Tony)died, she had to work with Gibbs alone.

but there was heat, or at least real warmth! Now THAT could've made Gibbs break his own Rule 12. Tony and Kate talk too much so I don't think something was ment to happen-too much talking,no action, although the writers like playing with this aspect of the show.
The last ,but not the least-don't you remember that DPB tried to diffuse the spark between them- he added the mysterious red head to prevent the tension between Kate and Gibbs-if all that's not an Unresolved Sexual Tension ,then you don't have a clue what Unresolved Sexual Tension is.:)
He had hots for her-she did't loved him the way he loved her.Kate liked him,but more like a brother than a potential lover.Kate was never serious with Tonyand her comments to him could be quite hurtful. Kate -in some small way- was still living up to the childhood conditioning shed received which trained her to believe that the strongest contestant made war - not love.

Gibbs was behaving to Kate differently like to Tony and Timothy because he has reverence to women. He called Abby as Abbs, he was buying coffee her, even he kissed her on cheek once or twice.But I have never had feeling that he loved Abby. It was similar with Kate too(but with other examples).

When I look at vote, I see, there are also people who agree with me. For us, Kate's and Tony's fans, exist only TATE, not Kibbs or Tiva.

1.Kate made Gibbs to re-estimate his opinion about aplogy-he did that ONLY to the women he love-i.e Jen.It's not about Kate beeing a woman-it's about a strong character,who make other strong character to change his mind-and for Gibbs - THAT speaks volumes.
2.Kate called him "bastard"-and he let her-and Kate still was curious about his personal life-like she NEVER did of Tony's.I can't recall a moment,when she trully was interested of his personal life-she always mocked him about that,like she would mock her younger brother.
3.Gibbs dreaming about Kate-and you find NOTHING romantic?I would ask you then why he dreamed about Kate and not about Abyy,then?Or Tony?-Their life could be in danger too,considering Ary-but he dreamed about Kate-because he was AFRAID about her-and that definitely shows affection!Same about Kate-Tony was in danger in "Reviele" too-but in "Twilight ",althought his life can be in danger too,she dreamed about Gibbs-what a coincidence...:)
4.Kate NEVER recieved a reproach from Gibbs.Or headslap.
5.Yes,she called him "pig"-just like she called him" bastard"-he actually liked it,because that shows "she have balls"/YW/-and Gibbs like that in women.She didn't ment he is unmature-she ment he acts like unmature-and that was ONCE-for fun.-She very often said to Tony that he behave like a boy.

I'm sure no one here can say"Tony and Kate don't have chemestry",because I think-and I hope everyone think that way-that they have.I just found their relationship to be more...playful.We never saw some really difficult moments between them-exept mybe SWAK-but I can't agree we saw anything more than caring from both sides in this ep,but there was the same childish behaviour.Tony said it himselfin Twilight"Me and Kate?Never happed.She is too smart for that."Opposite to the Kate and Tony's flirting,I think that Gibbs and Kate's scenes and interaction are much more subtle in comparision to Tony and Kate's scenes and interaction.I prefer more mature relationships,mostly because I like the an-explicit flirting:the looks exchanges, a smile, a little touch,the complicity...and I like also the fact that Gibbs was Kate's mentor, sometimes he's also harsh with her (Heart break),nothing is so clear or evident and,because of that, it's more interesting and more deeper:DBecause "still woters run deep",I personally i think there is more going for a Kate/Gbbs relationship than there is for Kate/Tony.

He did his job-there were suspitions that she could be involved-and that made her to see him like a professional-still a bastard,but and a professional,who will not cloud his judgement,even if he likes her like a woman.

5.He forced her to travel by tow truck from crime scene, Kate hated it.
Hate is a pretty strong word-dislike maybe-but still-that DOESN'T mean she dislike Gibbs,because he give her difficult appointments-again we have 2 strong characters-one give annoying or difficult appointments,the other not only shows that dislikes it,but do a great job on them.And that made Gibbs proud of her,and Kate shows that way that she have "balls"-which Gibbs liked in very first ep.
6.He told her she dissapointed him when she didn't do a work as she did once.
She was still a probie-and it WASN'T her fault-her friend decided to tell her Boss about the favour Kate want from her.Kate told him why her friend did it"on her place/her friend/,I'll do the same."Kate HAD a point-Gibbs tryed to make her do something not so good-for him maybe this is something ordinary,but not for Kate,who always go by the book.After tha she changed-she said it herself later:I would never suggest that,before I stared to work here."She always assert her POV-and that was one of the things Gibbs liked in her.:)

Rules are made to be brocken-but I understand Gibbs-both Kate and Gibbs were understandably wary of coworker relationships.Gibbs had his problems with Jen/his partner and ex-lover/; Kate had her thing with Major Kerry/her college and lover/. Neither was about to make a move, especially within only two years of knowing one another.

The readheadd woman wasn't a lover,or a girlfriend.The general assumption seems to be that the redhead is just a friend. Gibbs flirts a lot for a man who has a girlfriend/if you remember the blondy he kissed in "Doppelganger"/, if that is what the redhead is, but he does not seem the type to cheat or be a player.
13.His three ex wives were red-haired, Kate wasn't.
Are we talking about the same Jethro Gibbs,who kissed a BLOND woman in "Doppelganger",and his now ex-girlfriend Hollis Mann was BLOND woman too?He had a things for readheads only because he wanted to restore his relationship with his first wife.He definitely had lovers with heair color,diferent than red.
14.She said Tony to be careful, because if he(Tony)died, she had to work with Gibbs alone.
And she said it not because she is in-love with Tony,but because -lets face it-if 2 people deal with Gibbs bad mood,it will be eaiser for them to work.This is WORK related-it's NOT personal statement.That doesn't meanshe dislike Gibbs-tat means she dislike his moods.
