This year, the Mighty Mic Human Rights Awareness Concert will occur on Thursday May 29 in Ackerman Grand Ballroom on the UCLA campus. Our event will focus on the global issue of genocide, with an emphasis on the current situation in Darfur. We're coming together to recall the history, events, and people of five different genocides: Native American, Armenian, Holocaust, Cambodian, and the Great Lakes Region of Africa (Rwanda and Darfur).We are a group of students dedicated to social justice and human rights. Last year, we brought artists such as Peaches and the Fall of Troy among others. Our sold out show raised funds for the Revolutionary Afghan Women's Association (RAWA) and Doctors Without Borders (MSF) We plan on having the same success this year.
