Do you guys think that OTH and Dawson's Creek are similar?

First of all....

They BOTH have done the show in Wilmington throughout most of their series(OTH..has done it all there)

They are both teen dramas and the plot is around one character...Dawson for DC and Lucas for OTH

Both guys had a little sister named Lily who was born when they were in their late teens

They both have had girl problems....some things similar happened between Pacey/Joey/Dawson...and Brooke/Lucas/Peyton...like for example Lucas chose Brooke and Joey chose Pacey and Dawson/Peyton were disappointed but Pacey/Joey and Brooke/Lucas both didn't last.

Pacey and Dawson's relationship is very similar to Brooke and Peyton's.

DC had a Main 4....and OTH has a main 5

Both Chad Michael Murray and James van der Beek have both appeared on each others shows

and recently Luke is doing a movie on his life which Dawson also did......

<side note:I've mentioned a few things that I think OTH and DC have in common BUT they are by no means the same!..They have a lot differences too.I prefer OTH.I never really got into Dawson's Creek(It kind of seemed boring)<sorry DC fans>
But I do know what happened. I just want to make it clear that even though they have a lot of similarities they also have A LOT of differences...beginning with OTH being the better show<baised comment>...

Rosangie,it ended tragically. Joey ended up with Pacey :(
She SHOULD have ended up with Dawson!

Does anyone here watch Greek? Because I think Casey/Cappie/Evan are so much like Lucas/Peyton/Brooke!!
Sorry for the intrusion. ^^ But I have been always curious about this.

i only think they are similar because they were filmed in the same place and are the same network and target the same type of audience-- oh and that CMM and JvdB were on both.
but otherwise i feel like they are very different. the shows have very different vibes and dawson's creek was IMO really annoying. i watched every episode of it- but it still annoyed me so much....the way the characters spoke, the way every storyline ran around in circles-- and honestly- i didnt LOVE any of the main characters. i guess i liked jack the most-and pacey in the early seasons, but i didn't really like the rest of them so much.
i think OTH has great characters and while some storylines are really out there (i.e. psycho derek, carrie...) they are still presented in a relateable fashion. i never related to any characters on dawsons creek because they were just so stereotypical and one dimensional.

i see the similarities in that they are "teen dramas" or teen soap operas...and that shows like that always revolve around love storys, who's dating who, love triangles, and often heart ache...but i think the vibes of the shows and depth of the storylines is very different.

im not trying to insult DC fans because clearly i didnt hate it if i watched every episode of it....i just think OTH is much better

It had a few differences but yeah they are different in a lot of ways too.

Yes, I always thought they were going to end up together....I am glad I didn´t watch anymore seasons, then. I can´t imagine Joey and Pacey together. =S

well i think the fact that it's a teen drama revolving around a set group of people make it similiar in the type of audience the shows are meant to target.

i think the shows have similiarities between them but the shows are different. sure they both had their share of loves triangles causing best friends to be tore apart

but i the two shows have a different feeling to them... i loved dawson's creek but it is no where near as good as oth is...though i remember the show in general nothing about the show is particularly memorable

and i think oth has a lot of focus on the music they put in their show and the quotes they use for their voiceovers(or the good ones they used to use anyway)

and with the exception of cmm being on season 5 the show was terrible it's last two seasons

there was absolutely no way that joey was going to end up with dawson...that would have been more shocking to me than her ending up with pacey.

or maybe thats just cuz as with every show i watch there is a character i instantly hate and in dc it was dawson

I think both shows have a lot in common, dansea08 said all the reasons and Im not going to repeat it.
Dawson's creek have allways been my favorite show and the reason why i started to like oth is because of the similarities

I've never watched it and I'm not planning to.
