Why is The Comet winning? No offence, but I don't see how her relationship with Lucas / car should be her defining feature.

^ it may not be the defining term to everybody... but to some people it is. Most of the other options I feel like only describe Peyton during a few of the seasons, not the whole series. such as tortured artist... she wasn't really that artistic in the later seasons. But with the "comet"... that term goes all the way back to the pilot, and lasted through season 6. Everyone has their own reasons for their voting :)

She's sexy and strong, I love her meaningful art too.

tortured artist is perfect! i like some of the others also (curly hair & venom, fallen angel...). but i feel like tortured artist describes her so well- and it's what i love about peyton.
i think peyton is definitely artistic in the later seasons...being artistic does not just mean drawing- there is a lot more to art than just making pictures. music is a huge part of art--- and i'd say for peyton, music was not only a huge influence on her life- but a huge part of her life (since she even based her career around it!). just look at the way peyton expressed her love for lucas....she wrote the cure lyrics in huge on the river court. that is so artistic! not just the way she wrote it, but the fact that she chose musical lyrics to define her feelings. most of the characterts have chosen "artistic" careers (brooke being a fashion designer, haley when she's a singer, lucas being a writer) but with peyton it's more than just her job- all her passions are artistic. i think everything about peyton is artistic...from the way she dresses to the way she thinks.

and the tortured part....well i can't think of any fictional character that has had to deal with as much as peyton has, and has been as affected as much as peyton has. peyton's entire outlook on life and the way she relates to people has everything to do with the horrible experiences she has had to go through... drawing pictures of "people always leave, " "people always lie"....etc....sounds like a tortured artist to me.

and i agree ritergrl that i wouldn't want to define peyton by her relationship with lucas or by her car.... unless someone doesn't like peyton and only likes her car or only likes the fact that lucas was in love with her. i would never describe haley as "mrs. scott" even though i love naley and they have been the strongest couple on the show in my opinion. there's so much more to her than nathan. the same way there is so much more to peyton than lucas.
