this is about seaon 4- which is a completely different situation.
to be honest, all peyton really did was refuse his proposal. she was young, and she still loved him but she wasn't ready to get married. but, it only irritated me because she was perfectly willing to marry jake when she was SEVENTEEN. but, all her dreams were coming true for her and she still loved luke she just wasnt ready to settle down- especially with her being so young and just blossoming into the music buisness. :D
luke acted like a big baby and walked away, which was upsetting to me because i like luke and know he can be a better person then that. anyways, mostly it was lukes fault.

Lucas on the other hand..........clearly wasn't ready for marriage and this time Peyton was the sensible one as Jake had been - and pointed out neither of them where really ready at the moment BUT that she did love him and WANT to be with HIM! (this is the difference between the JP situation Lucas IS Peyton's true love - UNFORTUNATELY for poor Peyton (wouldn't you much prefer JAke?) anyway...)
Then Lucas unlike lovely Jake who if he was in the same situation would have probably said..."i love you no matter what so whats another year" Lucas - who is too used to getting his own way like a spoilt child - couldn't handle the blow to his PRIDE!
So...who's fault is the breakup -...oh, um, i dunno??? LUCAS FREAKING DUH GUYS!!!
