Razorlight

tinydancer posted on Oct 13, 2007 at 04:18PM
There's something I just have to get off my chest, and see if anyone else feels the same! People will probably hate me for saying this stuff, but it's just how i feel! Does anyone else feel like in their second album Razorlight are just trying too hard to make music that will be successful in the charts?? I ADORE Up All Night, it's one of my all time favorite albums and I was the biggest Razorlight fan, especially when none of my friends knew who they were, I was always talking about them! But I was just so disappointed with the second album, Razorlight. Even the name, the songs, everything about sounds like a first album of a band unsure about themselves - especially when compared to Up All Night!!
To go from lyrics like

"The boys in the band steal a kiss in the mystery of the night
11:59 to zero, live a blonde hair in jeans, holds her tight
Turns on the heat and starts to fight and sayin' "that's my man"
Well the myth of love must have been there
The spirit of possession was there

And the boys over at the bar
Yeah they're mixing up their medicine
The girls were on their mobile trying to get reception
Johnny's shadow's getting long but he keeps on singing
His shadow getting long but he keeps on singing:"
(In the City, Up All Night)

From that to stuff like "All my life
Watching America
All my life
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
There's trouble in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh"
