It's Rough Being a Samgirl!

THANK YOU!! Finding another Samgirl is hard! Totally agree with your article, I mean, I do love Dean of course I do but his popularity is taking over and it makes me sick to think he might be the one who saves everything. It should be sam and dean. *dodges deangirls missiles* and its turning into the dean show. I hate feeling this way as Supernatural is the best show but Sam has been neglected and his character left unexplored in season 4, he's just turned into monster of the week drinking rubys blood. And yet I feel I understand him more than dean. *sigh* But I know I'm not alone now and I really enjoyed reading your article!

Thank you!! And I know exactly what you mean! You said a lot of things better than I did. It IS turning into the Dean show, and that's not just sour grapes talking. It is never surprising, and is actually downright amusing how Dean can do no wrong and say no wrong in so many fans' views. It's almost pointless to defend Sam when Dean is elevated to the level of near-sainthood. Honestly, I never felt that way before coming to this site, but it's so frustrating - it would be so nice to make a comment about Sam and for just once have 14 people agree with it...heck, I'd settle for 3! I'm almost at the point where I wish Dean would do something totally nasty, but it wouldn't matter. He'd be defended tooth and nail no matter what.

So...we'll just continue to enjoy Sam with all his faults. It does make him a more well-rounded character - because we all know that Dean doesn't have any! ;))) :DD

I agree with you! When I watched the very first episode of supernatural I immediately thought Jensen was better looking, but I never was against Sam. I loved them both. As supernaturals ratings began to rise and so many teenage girls started screaming each time Deans name was said. I began to notice that, in many ways, Sam was better than Dean. And then season four came, Sammy has demon powers and Dean has come back from hell. I do agree that its kind of turning into Dean's show, but maybe all this stuff about Sam is going to end up turning the story back to him and making him good! For all us Pro-Sam, lets just hope for the best and continue watching our beloved Sam fall into the Shadows of Dean.

Ha,ha! I love your last line! Sam has been presented in such a bad light right from "Lazarus Rising". Hopefully Season 5 will focus more on him, and even more hopefully, show some positive things about him. I wonder, though, if the 'damage' has already been done, and if he ever will be seen in a favourable way. He'd probably have to sacrifice himself to save Dean to have that happen! (Couldn't you just see that happening?) :((

We're not saints either, we all have our flaws.. Maybe we don't drink demon blood and can't exorcise them (I wish I could.. LOL) But SAMMY IS MY HERO!!!you're right 67impala, I'm not anti-Dean at all, I really like him, but Sam is by far better!! All in one :)) I'm glad to know there's an army of Samgirls ready to protect him :) P.S awesome article :)

Thank you!! Yeah, I just had to get that off my chest - I was pretty annoyed at the time! One thing (of many!) that I love about Sam is that he's not an open book - he's a little harder to read, he seems to take in a lot and not say much - but when he does have something to say, it's well worth listening to. He comes out with some real surprises, because his motivations aren't always crystal clear. I find Dean is much more predictable, and therefore a little less interesting, than Sam. Sam's army rules!! :))

Gosh, 67impala, I wasn't sure that you could get any more awesome, but then I found this. Thank you!!!! These are all of the things I've been thinking since everyone started thinking Sam was the freak with the psychic abilities. I've loved Sam since day 1, and finally people agree! And Dean is the bomb, he's amazing, but Sam just has that 3-dimensional quality that Dean doesn't have, and I'm REALLY getting sick of hearing Dean whine about Hell. I mean, that must have been traumatizing and horrifying and the worst experience of anyone in existence, but SHUT UP ALREADY!!! He kept bringing that up as a guilt trip to Sam, and I'm just sick and tired of it. Sorry to sound bitter, but I'm merely venting. And I'm so glad things turned out okay between them!!!

Omigosh, thank you!! **blushes like crazy!** You're exactly right when you say that Sam is 3-dimensional; he's a "real" person. He thinks, he feels, he hurts, and he deals with his emotions like a normal person - well as normal as a person can be, given what they do! Believe it or not, I was just thinking earlier about Dean's horrible experience in Hell, but can you imagine what it must have been like for Sam?? Watching Dean being ripped apart by the hellhounds, then removing his body from the house, driving hundreds of miles to a field in the middle of nowhere and having to bury him?? And all the time knowing that Dean suffered this fate because of him? IMO, that was equally horrible, because Sam had to live this in real life. Dean was in a place where the kind of brutality he endured was normal, and no one was human any more. That doesn't take away from what he suffered, but it was different. And you don't sound bitter. Personally, I don't get what the total Dean love-in is all about, but I'm sure glad we have Sam. I'm also really happy that things turned out okay between them! I hope they continue to build on that in Season 5 - I miss the old Sam and Dean!! :DD

I know in my family my cousin totally tries to say mean things about Sammy. I just hate it I swear just if she really likes both characters like she says she does she'll totally see Dean has flaws just like our Sammy =}
