The season finale that just aired this April 2009 was beyond words. I'm not sure what the rating on this show is currently, but it is the best kept secret on television. Bookeem Woodbine is a seasoned actor; he's been on several shows and movies. But he always seemed to be stuck in the stereotypical "angry black man" role, man from the streets hustling to do what he has to do. On this show, especially the season finale episode, Bookeem hits a different mark. He is sympathetic and powerful at the same time and his performance was incredibly moving. I found myself thinking about his death scene for the rest of the night. If he is not atleast nominated for an emmy, something is seriously wrong. The show as a whole is gripping and profound. This is on the same level of writing as the show Friday Night Lights, which speaks to its' genius.
