who reads clifford simak?

I needed a new Sifi author as I have gotten at the end of my rope. Reading from the thousands of Star Wars ans Star Trek books.Is it the same kind of kindness and love as Heinlein meaning crazy nudist cults and marrages with several husbands and wives together? I hope not.
