Think about it. You've got boys of all ages and shapes and kinds. You got men...all remembering the comic and superman movies basically. You get everyone in the world to come to this movie. You get every ad campaign and taxi cab and twenty different versions of the poster. You got public school kids by the score. You got gangbangers, thugs, punks, freaks, nuts, sarcastic people looking to bag on nerdy Peter or Ugly Kirstin. You got every god damn restaurant promotion and K-Mart crossover. Got milk Sandman? A spidey-mask on the Jesus sculpture over Sao Paolo? On the MOON?! Criminals in prison?! Everybody in the world is going to see this movie just to weigh in on how stupid they consider the concept of "hype" in general. All ready to bag this movie if it doesn't really produce the goods. And what does Raimi open with?

How rich is Sam Raimi that he didn't consider the reaction of Spider-Man fans? Did he not take pride in the fact that anyone who would kick a bully's butt in real life was super impressed with SOMETHING about this SHMALTZY movie franchise?! Wow.
