I will always be fond of Darth Maul. He pretty much took out Qui Gonn and Kenobi singlehandedly (except that he got cocky at the end and let Kenobi slice him up).
I'd have to agree, Sidious is the best. He masterminded an overthrow of the clueless Jedi and started a galactic war. And he didn't even bust out the lightsaber until Episode III.
based on lightsaber skills alone...i would have to say darth maul. the jedi vs. sith fight at the end of episode I is second to none. on screen, there hasn't been a sith that fought better than maul (dooku, sidious, even vader?).... come on, no way.
but based on storyline line and incorporating all 6 movies in the star wars saga...yeah, i would have to agree that the overall best sith lord would have to be sidious. good acting by the way as well in ep3.
Vader, but specifically Vader in Episodes IV and V. Not only is he a potent force of evil, but he is isolated and anachronistic, an outsider that parallels both the outcasts OB1 and Yoda. There's something...elegant...in the menace of someone who is completely outdated but still evilly doughty.
Don't get me wrong Dan, I love Maul (he's probably the coolest looking and has the coolest saber) but getting punked by a padawan on Naboo? Not cool for your Sith cred dude!
good point greedo. x2 if you include the accounts of old wounds. other than being killed off so early (and somewhat easily), maul in my book is still one of my favorite sith because of his impressive fighting skills.
if you look at the classic obi-wan, wasn't it kinda lame that he was "killed off" so early (ANH) and his only prior lightsaber action was just slicing off ponda baba's arm at the cantina?
i guess for me, lightsaber skills ranks high for determining my favorite jedi or sith. so yeah, that's me.
I'd have to agree with the majority here. Sidious is an evil evil man. And for a Sith, thats saying something! I mean, who else has the patience to keep yourself alive for a millenia or two and then stage a successful coup and take over the galaxy? Not me! thats for sure! So, my ultimate evil vote goes to Sidious. Vader is cool, but again, his return to the light diminishes his Sith score by a few points.
ok so most people think maul sucked cause he got beat by obi wan. but put your self in his shoes ok. so you just beat a jedi master qui gon and now you just pushed some young padawan down a pit but he is just managing to hang on some red thingy and his lightsaber is like hundreds of feet below him so theres no way he is gonna get that back the last thing you expect is that this person not even a jedi is gonna jump over your head and grab his masters lightsaber and cut you in half. so i think maul was a typical lookin bad guy that totaly would of beat any of them in a lightsaber fight but not in power, count dooku was just a scared old man scared of another old man and got beat by some kid and nearly beat by some 800 year old green thing. vader is just too soppy out of all of them he the only one that turned back to good, he let luke skywalker live and if you ask me if he killed him when he had the chance he probley still be alive now and would of truly wiped out the jedi. so i thinks sidious is the most powerful, he dident care bout anythin he was just spiteful and cunning
Darth Sidious all the way. Although I admit Maul has the best skills with a lightsaber, there is more to being a true sith than that. Vader is ruled out because there was always a little bit of a jedi in him. Count Dooku was once a jedi as well. Outside of wiping out the jedi and the republic, Sidious is the ONLY sith that could give the greatest opponent, Yoda, a REAL FIGHT.
All the Sith Lords were evil in their own way & had different styles of getting stuff done. But my favorite would have to be a tie between Darth Bane & Darth Sidious.For those of u that haven't read the Star Wars:Legacy graphic novels,Darth Talon is HOTT!
Vader will ALWAYS have the cred bcz he took out numerous Jedi as well as Sith, including Sidious. However, if we were to magicaly transport ALL the sith alive and revive the dead to a battle area and let them fight it out, based on all information available, it's my opinion it would come down to three sith: Vader, Maul and Revan.
I think the darth lord philip was pretty sick and is about to make a comeback in our amazing star wars movie. You will understand what i mean if you check out our amazing movie, and look up the sequel in a couple weeks too. They are pretty sick. Here's the link

ur all nerds. plageuis was the sickest he was the smartest. bane was just a boss in every definition of the word. and darth maul was the coolest looking and has a sick lightsaber, i read a book about him, i would have to say he is my favourite, but not as boss as plageuis
In fact being that Anikans midichlorian count was double to triple the amount of any jedi or sith he would technically outrank any force weilder. However being cripled and internally fried Vaders dominant aptitude decreased . Being unable to produce sith lightnening and having breathing deficiencies maimed numerous abilities he once had. The other Sith that rank close to him in diverse ways are as follows: Revin, Bane, Plaguis , Freedon Nadd and the closest would be Palpatine or sidious who stands at 17000 . Vader stood at around 25000 and the only jedi ever surpass an average count was yoda and Mace. Curently according to the recent novels, Darth Krate holds the highest count. note: Palpatine aided himself with the usages of kaibur crystals , inhancing is count and increasing in force strength. So in other words he cheated.

It's close between Sidius and Vader, for Sith skills, Sidius, but for my favourite, it has to be Vader.
