Can anyone recommend a good online service for business cards?

I'm looking for a small batch of cards, double-sided with multiple colors. I would prefer matte because I think those shiny cards look and feel a bit cheap.

www.Vistaprint.com

Be aware that the free cardz have the Vistaprint URL on the back, but are otherwise a great value. Also, read the fine print at check out - be careful what you agree to sign up for!

Other than those two things, their prices are very affordable and the quality is really good.

Good luck!

My Cooking For Engineers cards were printed by Vista Print - glossy color on one side, black and white on the other. The black and white wasn't actually black - more of a half tone grey. The text on the back was hard to read.

Other than that, it was quite good and economical. Problem is that now I get CALLS from VistaPrint every month or so telling me about new offers.

Thanks guys, I found a service called OverNightPrints.com that seems to do a good job at very low prices. Double-sided and high quality (thick!). I didn't want the VistaPrint URL or annoying phone calls. :)

Just so everyone knows, the VistaPrint url is only printed on the back when you get their free business cards.

I've used VistaPrint for 5 years or more and have been happy 90% of the time. I know ahead of time that these won't be the top of the line, but if you are like me, a small business, who changes his/her mind fairly often--updating and revising your marketing materials, then VistaPrint is the best place to shop.

My first cards were the cheapies or freebies with the VistaPrint logo on the back, though you can get rid of that for $10.

I originally bought them 250 or 500 at a time, now I'm up to 1000-1500 at a time.

You have a choice of glossy or matte finish. I originally went with glossy for the shine, but now use the matte so I and my client can write notes on the card itself--which increases the chances the card will actually be kept.

I now choose the 100# card stock option and add a full color back side to my card.

All these things increase the price of my cards, but I normally get 1000 business cards--the way I like them--for between $50 and $75. This is comparable to a custom print shop, but I get so much more control with VistaPrint.

The #1 item I like is that I don't feel compelled to complete the design in a single face to face with a printer. I design, delay, design, and order in the comfort of my own home or office with no pushy salesman telling me what to do or getting pissed with this small business owner because I want to take my time when making up my mind.

I met a gentleman this past Tuesday who had VistaPrint do something that I've not even been aware of. He had them round the corners of his business card for a more professional/upscale look to them.

The only caveat or downside I disapprove of is that VistaPrint business cards are about 1-2mm smaller each direction than standard format. This is how VistaPrint saves you money, by printing more cards on each piece of card stock.

Wow, I sat down to give my 2 cents on business card printers and it seems that I gave a whole dollar. I wish you luck!

here's another novel option - get them printed on peanuts :)
