The idiots are the ones that don't know that literature doesn't spin around Twilight. What Mr. King does is truly WELL WRITTEN stuff not the non sense Stephenie Meyer wrote.
He has written more than 37 books and excuse me? STephenie Meyer only 5 ? OMG How dare he right? He must be a beginner in this thing about literature. *rolls eyes* Stephen King was asked about it so he respond in his wise opinion. Stephenie Meyer sucks that's the true. And the KING said it. |

Stephenie Meyer is a brilliant writer.
Um, no. I agree 100% with what Stephen King said about her writing. She's not successful because she's a brilliant writer, she's successful because the story is so simple, anyone can follow it (which isn't necessarily a good thing). There is absolutely no talent involved in her books - seriously, a book full of Mary Sue characters requires no creativity on her part. Stephen King, on the other hand, writes interesting characters who have a backstory that actually makes sense. His characters have depth. Stephen King is an old hag who is jealous because people like her more than him. False. He has absolutely no reason to be jealous. At all. He is so much more successful than Meyer, and there are definitely more people who like King more than Meyer. And if he's such an old hag, why are you a fan of this spot but not the Twilight spot? He said it for attention, obviously, so Stephenie Meyer doesn't really care that much. But, her statement is out there somewhere. I don't think so. He doesn't need to say anything for the sake of garnering attention. He was asked a question, and he answered it with his own opinion. What's so attention-seeking about that? And if Meyer doesn't care too much, it's probably because her brother makes sure this kind of negative feedback doesn't reach her. If she knows, she does care. And of course, she would respond with an immature comment. End of. |

Stephen King is much better writer than Stephenie Meyer.
More people like Stephen king than Stephenie Meyer. Stephen King's books have made more money and sold more than Stephenie Meyer, because, frankly, Stephenie's writing is terrible. Evanna Lynch also thinks this, so he isn't the only celebrity who doesn't like her. Stephen King is not a woman, so therefore he cannot be called a hag. That insult is generally reserved for a woman. Stephenie Meyer probably does not even know, due to her sheltered life style. also, what the heck were you THINKING when you posted this in a spot DEDICATED TO STEPHEN KING? I mean, really?! |

I'm a huge fan of King and Meyer. Not because of the Twilight-saga (which I think is just ok, nothing more), but because of "The Host". I've read it 5 times already. King can't make me read his books over and over again, although he is a brilliant writer. I'm really sick of Twilight-fans saying: "I loove Edward, he's so pretty!", when he really looks like a drug addict. The Twilight saga is a nice story, nothing more. King is on a different level, I can't compare them. The reason why I love Meyer now, is because she dropped the whole "sparkeling vampire" thing. Vampires don't sparkle!!

I highly doubt Stephen King criticized Stephenie Meyer out of jealousy.
He has sold a lot more bestsellers then Smeyer, and almost all of his novels were made into films that many of us fans can never forget. He has been praised incessantly for his writing, and has earned the title "King of Horror", which I am sure a lot of young writers like me would crave for. If anything, Stephen King was simply doing something almost all of us do--putting his opinion out there. Someone asked him what he thought of Twilight or Stephenie (I am not sure of the exact question, but I do know he was asked what he thought), and King simply replied with an honest answer. I honestly don't know why people diss Stephen King and say he's jealous of Smeyer. It does not make sense...at all. |
