Ok mostly because I REALLY want to see him on the show (like I said on another pick just to day lol) But he's awesome and hot and, well I don't think I need another reason :D
Out of these choices I went with James because he is a great character actor who can do both funny and evil. Also he is a TV star that is currently not working. After him I would go with Julian because he has pretty much already played this role. I hate to say it, but I don't think they will get a big name actor to play this role. I also don't think they will get the same person to do it everytime. If he is like the demons and angels he/she will be able to jump into any body thew choose. I think that would be a great way to keep it fresh.
James, sam or Julian. Julian was friggin' AWESOME as a demon/Cole on Charmed! Want him back as a badass :D But James is a joint choice for me tho :) Spike woooooooo (cud I say more lol) And Sam u've jus gotta watch him onscreen and not be mesmerised
I want someone sexy to play Lucifer, I'm tired of telling my friends I only watch the show for the emotional content, I wanna be petty, I wanna be perverted, and I wanna objectify someone on Supernatural!
Sam Witwer is my piece of eye candy, when he's on screen I can't even think of plotline.

First movie I ever saw Viggo in, and his portrayal of Lucifer was downright chilling. I've never forgotten it! (of course, it wouldn't happen, but I'd love to see him in that role again.) :))

i'm with u 67impala...plus i love viggo and he was an awesome lucifer....also i can't remember his name but the dud you played lucifer in constantine did a pretty awesome job. :)...next i would say james.
Though I wouldn't mind Julian doing it, I have to go with James. I already know the SPN producers had wanted him in the show at some point.

Viggo Mortensen as lucifer in the prophecy was downright scary, and I also think James Marsters would play the role beautifully and so would David Boreanez (I think that's how you spell it)
