These are the facts, and I, as a major fan of Speedy, am here to give them to you.
Speedy's real name is Roy Harper.
Roy Harper was raised by Brave Bow, a Navajo medicine chief after his father, a forest ranger, died in a forest fire.
Under Brave Bow's tutelage, Roy became a remarkable archer, and, after Brave Bow's death, Roy was adopted by Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow, and became the Green Arrow's sidekick, "Speedy."
He was given the name after Green Arrow witnessed Roy's ability to string and fire a bow in a matter of seconds, which he did to stop a robbery. GA then yelled while he clapped him on the back, "Wayta go, Speedy!"
The whole block of people who were there to witness them then dubbed Roy as Speedy. For years and years the name stuck to him.
Speedy joined Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad and Wonder Girl in the newly-formed Teen Titans, a group originally formed from the various "teen sidekicks" active in DC comics at that time.

Just to avoid confusion, i feel i must tell you that Beast Boy did not go by Beast Boy while he was a Titans, or even most of his Life. He called himself The Changeling!

As a child, Garfeild was bruoght to africa, Upper Lamumba, by his parents, Scientists Mark and Marie Logan. While exploring, Young Gar stumbled apon a rare species of monkey. No one had ever seen the monkey before. It was green, and carried a strange diseise called Sakutia, that only animals could survive. Garfield was bitten by the strange monkey and cought the diseise.

Robin & the titans stared in horror as Scarlet took out the sparkling, blue diamond. "Hmm, this is cute... Maybe I'll keep it..." she started saying.
"NO!!! That belongs to the museum." Robin said in a strong voice. Scarlet looked up. Everyone gasped. "No, she can't look like...." Cyborg said. Starfire held her hands over her mouth as she said,"Why do you look like Robin?" Scarlet just started chuckled an evil laugh. "Are you his like, sister?" asked Beast Boy. "HAHA!! Me? A six thousand year old vampire related to that excuse of a um, boy, I'm guessing?"
"TITANS GO!!!!" yelled Cyborg & Robin. Raven picked up a trash can with her telekinesis. She tossed it to Scarlet but Scarlet was at one place, then the next, she was gone. Raven stared in amazement when suddenly, she felt a power of punches at her. She layed, defeated. "You are so boring." Scarlet said yawning.
Next, Cyborg shot his laser from his laser cannon. A puff of smoke had hit where Scarlet just was. "BOO-YAH!!" he yelled. Then the smoke lifted & Scarlet was holding his laser, "NUH-UH!!" she yelled as she threw the laser back at him. He ducked & came charging at her. She held up with one...
