Creativity at Work - Help Needed

Hey Y'all! I need some help with my latest undertaking. More than anything else in the world, I love to write. More than almost anything else in the world, I love to act. And more than...um...a lot of things in this world, I love TV. Combine all these great loves and what do you get? Well, I'll tell ya: you get one girl (me) dying to write a screenplay for a television show in which she is the main character.

The only problem is, I am having trouble coming up with a story idea to run with and create a script out of. And that's why I'm enlisting all of you, my fellow fanpoppers. If anybody has some inspiration for the next great teen drama, and you are willing to share that inspiration, please let me know. Of course, I'll make sure to give credit where it is due; I would never steal someone else's creative genius. All I'm asking for is a few clever ideas that could possibly turn into a TV series.

I will need consent to use your story, - (granted, I won't plagarize; I'm just planning to take the basis of the plot and modify it to fit my personal writer's voice) - and keep in mind I want to create something age-appropriate for teenagers. Yeah, I know teens these days are subjected to a lot, but I'm not looking for something overly sexual. One more thing, the main character should be a girl, since that's what I am:)

If I absolutely love the suggestions that hopefully come flooding in, I'll try to show my appreciation by incorporating some of your names into the screenplay - if you're okay with it, that is. If public recognition is not your thing, tell me, and I will find another way to say thanks.

hmmm i am willing to share ideas but as a fellow actress if it ever takes off i expect a call from you to invite me to play the sidekick and co-star with you lol

i am judging by the images that you used in your article you would fell more comfortable writing a drama (correct me if i am wrong because i would love for someone somewhere to bring out another really good vampire show and give the poor vampires their balls back after what twilight are doing to them)
sooooo just to bounce a few ideas around that maybe really crap because i am just writing them down as i think of them up on the spot. Erm what about something about a specifically performing arts high school, i say this because stuff like this seem uber popular at the moment like high school musical and what not....although i of course mean something more sophisticated and a lot less disney lol maybe the main character isn't so pretty and doesn't have the hollywood look that is so valuable in the show buis world. what also seems very popular are stuff about kids that are unpriverlidges to the other kids around them in someway like ryan in o.c. is obviously from a poor neighbourhood but maybe you could play with something a lot more hard hitting than that. Maybe a teen who is gay in a private christian school....running along the same theme a teen who is troublesome very rebellious and so her parents have placed in a private catholic school. Erm what about focusing a teen drama around a teen who maybe is coping with a medical condition trying to fit in and just be a normal teen, new start fresh school

......are these the sort of plots you were looking for or i am just rambling off tangent in a completly bad direction? lol
anyways as i said i was just bouncing a few ideas around, if you come up with some material it would be great for you to share maybe a section of it, hopefully a more creative writer fanpopper may give you some more detailed ideas

Since I haven't started my novel yet (cough cough) here's an idea for you: a mystery series, a la Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys. Perhaps with a theme-they hang out at a stable, vet's office, garden. Or there's a subtle supernatural element. Or she travels with parent(s)/guardian(s) to archeological digs or as a travel guide, or they run an inn. Just some thoughts.

Thanks you guys! Great ideas! Amazondebs, I especially love the way you think; you've given me a lot of ideas to consider. And of course you can be my co-star! LOL. I'll have to come up with a special part for you:) You too, katreader, mysteries never lose popularity. Thanks again!
